*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

O2 cant send me a replacement Desire, so offered me a Desire S or an Xperia Arc S.

Went for the desire S as the design looks slick, even though the Arc has 400mhz more in the processor. I just enjoy sense that much.

Ordered a 16gb class 10 card, been using the 8gb so much i need more room already lol

Intersting, is the desire s going to get ics officially?

Hi guys - having put Runnymede on to my Desire my sister likes the look of it and wants it on hers. The only worry I have is that her phone is Virgin branded - will this affect the process - do I need to do anything different and will it work at all?

Cheers,

MD

Shouldn't do. The rooting process unlocks any phone regardless of carrier letting you put any custom rom on to the device.

Just to add to this, it allows you to put firmware on and it does not sim unlock. There were problems with radios on orange but I don't think that's the case now.

After breaking the screen of my iPhone 2g this weekend I've managed to talk my mother into upgrading her phone to a iPHone 4s and then I have her HTC Desire (B).

Should be pretty nice to use 'till July when I get the Nokia Lumia 710.

Any tips for me though? I've used Android to an extent on my old Samsung Galaxy Europa, but the phone was gash so it put me off it a bit.

Yeah as I found out, but a £5 unlock code sorted mine :) funny thing is my brothers desire which was delivered at the same time as mine didnt lock when I rooted his

It was to do with the radio version, if you ran a compatible version then there was no need to unlock, mines still sim locked on orange.

Get it rooted and put a custom ROM on.
If you've really got to have sense then there are plenty of them here

I personally think sense drains the battery to quick so i'm using this ROM at the moment.

There are also a few ICS roms on there and although they're still beta's they work fine.

think its time to sell the trusty ol desire and upgrade to evo 3d!

Anyone sold it recently on one of the recycling companies?

Ive been going over and over in my head the same thing since the evo's were available at asda cheap cheap still havent taken the bait as im not sure how much of an actual upgrade it would be, the only thing that i dont like on the desire is the camera and from what i can see the evo isnt much better (not inc 3d)

nearly ordered one today and resisted, it would be more of a stepping stone I think tbh
