*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

I've tried disabling it through settings > apps > running apps > then forcing a stop to sense UI. This didn't work though.

I believe the youtube video describes the above (in a bit more detail) but i've heard other people say it doesn't work either, so basically i've no idea!

Yea tried that and it didn't work.

The article shine just posted is a link to the same video basically.

I don't want to root my phone when a hack is released - but I'd love for a way to jump to vanilla Android 2.1 when I had the urge.

I'm after some nice notification sounds. My Magic was rooted and had some nice different ones (different to my fiancées HTC Tattoo, unlike my HTC Desire!). Anyone got a link to a website with some stock, short but loud notification type sounds?

If you have both Wifi and 3G switched on, it will pick Wifi over the 3G connection if possible. So make sure that Wifi is switched off and try again.

Wifi is definitely switched off & mobile network is switched on. I have at least 2/3 bars signal and either 3G or 3G+ in the notification area. Tis very annoying.

Can someone please tell me the box contents of the Desire with 02?

EDIT - Do 02 even do the Desire? I found websites stating 02 confirming they will supply the Desire but it isn't on their website.

Try ringing them. I got my contract direct from orange by ringing them, when it isn't on their site (not even in the coming soon section).

Cost of phone? length of contract?

Not so sure on the Virgin coverage but if that's a free phone on a 18 month contract, then it's an average deal since the total cost would be £540

Lots of people on here were getting contracts worth around £450 - £480 and some lucky people near the £400 mark (maybe cheaper but I'm not sure).

Arrrr Hope that helps ;)

Its an 18 month contract and the phone was free.
I am getting that deal more because I need the minutes and texts, I am quite a heavy user.

Doh, my bad. I could only find the HTCHD2 on their pay monthly section

Just rang them, they say it isn't in stock until the end of the month. My cooling off period runs out on Saturday, darn!
