*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Isn't it a light sensor? Not an LED?

There is an LED on the front - its the one that turns green/orange when you're charging. Its also meant to flash in green when you have a notification. Email your gmail account - that will bring up a notification.

@ Kamakazie!

Phones 4 U are doing the htc desire on orange for £25 a month 18 months, free phone. Unfortunately it is locked and branded but im sure you could get it unlocked for not too much.

They are offering 300mins, 3000 texts, 500mb internet and unlimited email per month.

Not sure if this is helpful to what you need or not but I thought i'd post anyway.

Externally branded or do you mean software branded?

Just tried T-Mobile for the £10 p/m just in case but no luck, so it looks like I will be moving to Orange on the 20th April.

Correct but that is not what was asked. He asked about the LED in the tracked, not the one in the top right.

I'm on o2 12month simplicity for smartphones(so got the desire from cpw for £399), looking at the results for the speed tests I've run the fastest has been 2.45mbps down 1.70mbps up. that is faster than the home broadband speeds I get(also with o2, only access as don't have o2 llu at our exchange. get upto like 1.8mbps).

this is day 15 since getting the desire so it's past the point of no return, but then I got it instore and cpw don't do the 14day return on orange payg. was told by the sales guy that I had 14days to return it, some one(who says that they work at cpw) on the xda forums told me that it's upto the managers discration(sp?) in the event of mis-information. I had been umming and arhing about if I should test to see if they would honur the return or not, in the end decided to keep it. seeing the pink tint so have 13days to excersise the 28days exchange in event of faults, only thing is will they have any stock and will they all also have the pink tint issue.

I ordered the sandisk 16gb class 2 micro sd card for £32.99 from the etailer named after the south american rainforest last night, should have it friday as it said that they have in stock but can take 2 days to deliver(tho looking now it's down to £32.29 and saying order within 2hrs 36mins for their express delivery for tomorrow. I can't cancle my order as it says that it's being readied for dispatch).

need to order a case(got my eye on one but the pitures show a nexus in it even tho it says it's for the desire) and car charger now, a destop charger/sync cradle would be nice also. already have the screen protector on order, just waiting on it to be delivered.

Just found a deal online for £15 x 24 months + £5 discount over 24 months + £59.99 for the phone which works out at £420 woo!

where from? might be able to get cashback through quidco, topcash etc which would make it even cheaper(or at least get you back some/most of the cost of the hanset you had to pay upfront).

(T-Mobile) £20 x 18 months + £59.99 for the Desire + £60 cashback from quidco (100 texts, 100 minutes, unlimited internet.)

Works out at £360!

Would have gone for the deal but I really need at least 300 texts as well!

(Thats a nice deal you got, if its online would you mind sending me the hyperlink via trust? Thanks.)

can the desire store some media files seperately and privately peeps? its ok showing the phone off but prefer to keep certain items private!

Not sure if this has been answerd but the easiest way to do it is to rename any folders that you want private with a "." at the start e.g. ".porn"

This will prevent them showing on the phone. You will need a file manager app like Astro File Manager to view them on the phone but they wont show up in the album or anything.

Ermmm with tmobile you get the flexible booster...my tariff is £10pm over 24 mths and that includes 100mins, unlimited texts and unlimited internet. Phone cost me £120 so comes out to roughly £360 as well but no faffing around with quidco.

Wow one random website puts it at number 1, hardly conclusive.

Plus how long has the 3G / 3GS been out now...

Lets have a think next time eh.

Wow... Do your shirts fit you ok with those massive chips on your shoulders ?? All that was posted was a link stating an opinion and comparing a NEW phone with one thats been out for a while.... Of COURSE its likely to be better and normal people will realise that... Not, I am sure, enough to get a hump about...
