*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Bah I've had the Magic so long that it's stuck in my head ;)

It is after all the first phone that made me lol daily (literally, using the LOLcats app :p).

Wifi is definitely switched off & mobile network is switched on. I have at least 2/3 bars signal and either 3G or 3G+ in the notification area. Tis very annoying.

It works if the signal indicator says just 'G' for GPRS or 'H' for HSDPA, but not when it says 3G or 3G+

Right final question

I have requested my PAC code from O2 today, it should take a few days I think.
Should I purchase the Virgin contract now or do I have to wait for the PAC code to come through, could I just tell them it when I get it?

My Desire is in it's box and ready to be sent back to MPD tomorrow morning. They've frustrated me to no end, and I still haven't been sorted out with a connected sim card (it's been 8 days).

Is there anywhere else on the high street that sells unbranded phones? I'm probably gunna go tomorrow and get another Desire from Carphone Warehouse, even though their contracts are 24 months. At least I'll have a working phone, and customer services when I need it...right?

You think thats frustrating, I cancelled my order with MPD on april 1st, since then i've been charged and sent 3 HTC Desires, all attached to contracts which I've had to return.

Mine took 12 hours to come through via Text Message. Thats what I did with T-Mobile and worked fine but I would check with Virgin first.

You can edit bookmarks in the browser - bookmarks hold down the one you want to delete and select delete from the popup.

How do i remove the oranage book marks and maps from the desire?

Borich

Orange have installed a lot of crap on their branded Desire which can't be removed as they're 'system' apps. This includes about 4-5 demos of games - it's quite stupid really.

I think I already know the answer to this question but is there any way to turn off the start up sound? I like my phone to be quiet in a morning when it is switched on!

None at the moment. I wonder if putting the phone in silent mode before you witch it off will stop the startup sound?

Really??...who is it that your going with Burnsy??...seems like this phone is pretty popular:eek:.

Saying that this evening on my way home from work i found a few people on the tube with Desires:p...

Voda, they've had some stock but that's already gone out on preorders. Looks like I'll get it Weds next week at the earliest.

I'm thinking of upgrading my ageing, out of contract, iPhone 3G to a Desire.

I've not been in a mobile phone shop for years, but do they tend to have any Desire's out anywhere that you can have a play with like you can with iPhone in Apple stores?
