*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Got my screen protectors from Ebay today, 6 for a quid I think, surprisingly they're very good, far better than the one I bought for £6 for my Ipod Touch. (and there's 5 spares!)

Well let us know of these great offers.

I have only really seen them for £30 now with a free handset and that si on a 24month contract.

You can pick up a Desire on an 18 month contract with T-Mobile, 300 Minutes + 300 Texts + Unlimited Mobile Web for £25 from mobilephonesdirect. I've read that folks purchasing T-Mobile via a reseller can get the usual 3GB limit by calling them up, the 3GB limit apparently applies to all Android phones.

Im going to call them later and have it out with them as im still in the same situation. Ordered 23rd and no sign of it being dispatched.

I called them and was suprised to be given a Parcelforce tracking number.

It's out for delivery and I should receive it today

The sad thing is all these problems are down to misinformation. I actually have no issue with the timescales involved, had they told me in the first place 'It will be Wednesday' then I'd have not minded in the slightest. It was the constant random information and lack of information that has wound me up.

I've still not had any of the text messages confirming despatch etc that anyone else had - good job I rang actually as I've been able to make sure somebody is in..

Hmmm seems like i cannot transfer files ie mp3's etc from my Desire to my BB 9700 via bluetooth and neither can i receive files from my BB 9700 to my desire...everytime i try to transfer files over i keep getting a message saying file transfer has been declined by target device :/

Did they say when it was despatched Fox? Not had an email about delivery or anything? Seems rather strange that they wouldn't contact you at all about sending it out and also giving out the wrong information.

Interesting development. I will call them later on and see what they say about mine.

At the moment Android can't transfer files via bluetooth.

http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=1725

There are apps on the market that should enable this. I've not tried any so can't give you an examples.

Ahh ok didnt know that lol..ill have a look at the market and see whats on offer.

Bit of a shame really...hopefully google will sort this issue out as whats the point of BT other than having a headset, which imho makes you look like an idiot:p.

Are we going to continue to find these ridiculous Android based facepalms?

Why can it not do this - sorry to sound like a stuck record but my 2005 Nokia 6230 could do this and sync via Bluetooth

Actually I think my 7650 did it as well, and that was 7 years ago...

I hope my new Desire isn't going to be a costant voyage of discovery of more and more things I consider functionality so basic I wouldnt even think to ask if its possible that it simply wont do..

My sister sent me a picture from her Samsung Jet via bluetooth and it transferred to my phone just fine! I can also share files via bluetooth without the need to use additional Market apps.

The Desire can Bluetooth file transfer.

Whether you consider it basic requirement or not though the answer is always the same with Android, if you can't do it out of the box, you can do it with an app and usually with more features thrown in.

It's never the end of the world either way and at least Android users have the luxury of benefiting from the phrase "There's an app for that" which I do believe Apple came up with in the first place yet there was no app for basic things in iPhone when it was still the freshy?

What's all this about Bluetooth? I just tested it and I was able to send a file from the Desire to my laptop and vice versa, both via bluetooth, absolutely no problem.

Just installed the Android keyboard with voice to text APK, keyboard feels a bit better for me but the voice to text is a gimmick or my accent is shocking lol, it picks it up though if I speak REALLY slowly like a robot.

Also really like the google voice search from the physical search key, so much faster!
