*** The Official HTC One M8 Thread ***

Got mine today via Carphone Warehouse.

3 month early contract upgrade, mentioned that O2 are giving £100 House of Fraiser voucher via their Refresh deal, so CW took £100 off my early renewal charge, so £29.99 for the phone and £61 charge.

Quick question: I've not seen a 4G symbol as yet only 3G or H, any ideas?

Oh and I had to get the misses new phone to replace her ageing iPhone 4!

Depends if you have 4G enabled in your area, if you have a 4G SIM and if you're on a 4G tariff.

Went to CPW to play around with the M8, it does feel nicer and Sense 6 seems like a good step up from 5.5, but the size is just too big for me.

Had a play about with one today, really is lovely but just too big for me. The One M7 was just about too big in my opinion but as this is even bigger i'll be giving it a miss. Hope it sells well though, as the attention to detail and refinement from HTC merits this to be a success.

Got mine today - really impressed with it so far. Still getting to grips with Sense as it's a little bit different to the Nexus OS I'm used to.

Massive improvement over iOS though in my opinion, although I think iOS is more suitable for less able users.

I have the m7, had a play with the m8 today. Not worth the upgrade for me, to big, same camera which is acetate to say the least. Jumping ship to the xperia z2.

Still no go on my M8, no signal on it at all, and cant even use my old one now to make/receive calls or texts.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr this is annoying.

Take it you had to do a sim swap from a micro to a nano sim? Sounds like the messed up the transfer to the new sim. I had the same with Vodafone, had to go into store and get them to call up customer service as I was sick of trying to call up and being put on hold for over an hour.

Why did they drop OIS to give us a second camera for silly post processing effects? I'd argue the OIS was more useful. What is it with companies at the moment making silly decisions?

I was going to agree, until I actually started using it.

You can do some seriously sweet awesome things using that extra camera. Not even gimmicky stuff, great pics.

Glad you've found a use for it. Maybe I'm just not into photography enough to appreciate it :p. I tend to just take pictures and leave them as is, so features that can help me take more consistent and better pictures are what I'm looking for.

Point and clicks are certainly better than my Z1 Compact was. Fast and simple shots that is.

The Z1\Z2 will shine with landscape stuff and when you stand there with a steady hand.

Jump into an o2 store and they will give u a 4g sim for free. But depends on Surrey is 4g enabled

Ordered mine through the o2 refresh program. Looking at the reviews and the o2 store has confused me slightly. They don't ship a charger? Some reviews seem to have a basic clip on case included in the box?

Can anyone who has got theirs directly from o2 confirm what they got in the box? Thanks :)

I haven't opened one yet, but as far as I remember, no charger, as o2 and most manufactures (that arnt Samsung and apple ) have this "eco" bs about most people having chargers already. Comes with the cable though. Have a go at customer services, they usually send one out for free if you do, but it will be generic, though should be 2a.

Refresh price works out decent, even better from a franchise o2 store as they can knock off upfront costs, so all your paying for the phone is 480, plus you get the voucher for 100 in house of fraiser.

I'm working tomorrow, so will find it exactly what's in the box then.
