*** The Official HTC One M8 Thread ***

Mate how's the battery life now? Am thinking of giving this phone another go.

Cheers

Even better than that screenshot, I think it settled in properly after a few days. I'm getting about 6.5-7 hours of screen time under heavy use. Idle time is amazing too, I probably lose about 1% every 90 minutes or so in deep sleep.

This is all on stock rom/kernel aswell, it's only gonna be better when I flash a custom rom/kernel, but for now I see no need lol.

BTW, the sound on this thing is unreal, especially with headphones, boomsound is amazing, can't express that enough!

Edit: phones been thiefed again by my mum. I'm not gonna bother trying to get it back, will just stick with the iPhone 5 for now. Meh.

I'm used to having to charge my xperia z daily so it's a little weird to get to the end of a day with the one m8 still showing 60% charge left (and bear in mind its getting some welly at the moment because it's new).

This is the best phone I've ever had.

well i jst swaped a new16gb htc m8 for a note 3 32gb,also got a a new s4 here as thats what i was going to keep cummin from a s3,no what u mean about the the lag /very slight on the s4 and on the note 3,but when i oc the note 3 to 2.5 and keeped the min sppeed at 500 the lag was gone, sames as my s3,the cpu would downclock fromm 1,8gzh to 200so it alaways first laggy the first few seconds, thats the problem that causes lag on samsungs phones, they clock the cpu to low to save batterry which then causes lag at wake up,must say,the htc didnt have that problem it was if it was running at 2,5ghz consatantly, they probaly jst dont downclock there cpu as low as samsumg which explains the lag, also hated the onscreen buttons on the htc ,i felt the screen was smaller than the s4 when it was wasnt, then u have a 1inch black htc screen at the bottom, alaso coming from a samsung the htc colours lokked washed out to me even asked a few famliy and they said the same,im more thatn happy with my noteand its the the cpu in both apart from the htc one has a small overclock whick my note will be faster once i root

Well, that was a pleasure to read.

Started a new job last month so I might get one of these, I have never had a contract before and I am still using my HTC Desire. What networks should I be looking at or avoiding? I have used Giffgaff for a long time now and I get bad 3G in a lot of places.

Get a 4 g contract mate prices have come from what they were and coverage is better now. I never used to get any signal in my seat at the football with 3 g now I get a great signal with 4 g.

Love this mobile, was considering a Z2 but once I'd played with one of these I was swayed.

Galaxy S - S2 - S3 - S3 LTE - M8. first non Sammy mobile in quite some time.

Out of touch with phones...still on a iphone 3g... but been thinking of switching over... Whats the comparison between this and the Samsung S4/S5?

Is the HTC One M8 the latest model?

Thanks

The M8 and the S5 are the latest models, and are (for the most part) fairly similar to each other. Each have their perks and downfalls, but they're relatively similar.

The S4 and the M7 (the previous HTC One) are a bit older now, so a bit cheaper.

That's great to hear Mate that the battery life is that good. However after reading reports from various sources that QC is a little hit and miss with the M8 I really don't want to go through the hassle of buying one and only to find that it's faulty. Think I'll stick with the N5 for now and see what the G3 brings to the table.

You really should keep your phone hidden from your Mum, how can you get mugged again by her? lol :p

Hi guys, what's the story with the Quick Charge 2.0 thing? I just used the 10w (2A) USB charger from my iPad, as it's more powerful than the 1.5A charger the One M8 came with. Is that enough? Or do I need some special charger to properly use the Quick Charge 2.0 feature?

coming from s2, s3, s4 , note 3 to a htc m8,

i was disappointed with the S5 and it was only the HTC m8 as alternative, and glad i did, build quality is best i seen, speakers best on any phone, battery life is great, heavy use all day on 4g and at 11pm its around 25% with 5hrs screen time,

sense is so fast and smooth, never had this on samsung devices using touchwiz
