Had a good look at the one and GS 4 today and I am very impressed with each one for different reasons;
GS 4:
- definitely nicer in person, hate the white model but the black is nice looking. Much prefer it to the GS 3 design, the plastic/metal strip on the sides, decent looking hard button, squarer edges really helps with the aesthetics and to top it all of, the lack of bezel especially on the sides is just spectacular. Not overly fussed on that pattern finish though....
- screen...... just amazing, really wowed me and I couldn't spot any issues with pink tint, red pixels etc. if you like SAMOLED screens then you can't beat this display, the movie/professional modes also work well to give you a more natural LCD look, still not quite to the standards of the one or other LCD displays
- eye scroll actually worked pretty well for me (in the videos it looked rather slow/not as useful) and I really like airview (can see this becoming popular/useful, however, we have to rely upon app developers to implement this in their apps)
Now what really ruined the device(s) for me, lag and slow, out of the 2 handsets that I tried, both felt like I was using an old android phone i.e. GS 1 or a HTC desire

, opening apps took like 1-2 seconds (especially the camera app) and scrolling was just jerky, I tried turning of all that smart stuff, but it still remained the same more or less. I am going to put this down to old firmware and being display models though as it shouldn't be that bad! As as you all know, I don't like touchwiz at all

Apart from the stated reasons before, this just feels even worse, too much like the old versions of sense i.e. too many sub menus, settings etc. to mess about with and just has a gingerbread/froyo feel/look still.
HTC one:
- amazing performance, it was just super smooth and instant throughout, definitely the best android phone for this area imo
- very nice design, however, as kona stated, it just feels/looks too tall and too much bezel. I think I prefer the front design/look of the GS 4 more than the HTC one
- speakers are out of this world (for a mobile device), you really have to hear it for yourself, no phone comes close
- sense V5 is great, does everything I want from it i.e. unified feel, nice looking, great apps/features
- stupid button/logo arrangement and also don't like the power/lock button placement
- screen is really nice, pretty much like the one X screen but sharper
Couldn't obviously test the camera out properly on either device or get a proper feel for the devices but from what I could, the one as expected feels more premium and feels like it has better build quality, however, the GS 4 feels more comfortable to use/hold and I like how light it is, GS 4 feels sturdy though.
