***The Official HTC One Thread***

So it looks like three are sending me a replacement phone. It should arrive today.

I'm kind of scared I'm going to get a dodgy one returned to me!

If the replacement is faulty request to go in-store for your next one. It'll be well worth it when you do get a good one.

The battery life on mine is fantastic.

For those who find the power button a bit of a pain (like I do), you might want to try an app on the playstore called 'Cover Algorithm'. It basically locks/unlocks the phone using the sensors, and doesn't need root. I have mine set to lock/unlock using the proximity sensor as the trigger. So when I put the phone in my pocket or face down on my desk it locks, and when I take it out of my pocket or turn it over on the desk it unlocks. (I have a case on it that raises the screen a bit, so I don't have to worry about it scratching when I put it face down.)

I was concerned that it would eat battery, but it doesn't seem to. The phone was in my pocket for about 10 hours during the working day yesterday without use but with wifi on and connected to work internet. I had Cover Algorithm running the whole time. At the end of the 10 hours the phone had lost about 8% of the battery.

Just thought I'd share.

Thanks for the tip mate, I was annoyed by the power button located on the top of the device but it is second nature now. I just wish 4.2.2 would hurry up without having to root.

Just received my One from HTC (Expansys) but it's not as good as the one I had for a week from Vodafone... That one was absolutely perfect, but I realised that I should never have left Three to go to Vodafone, their network is appalling! So i returned the handset and cancelled my contract and took Three's new £15 The One contract for 12 months.

The phone from HTC has a gap between the screen and the lower speaker grill, and the screen and the grills aren't level (the screen is slightly recessed). So annoying that I had a bang on perfect phone and had to hand it back!

Hopefully when I return this one I'll get another good example in return...

I've received my replacement. There is a very similar issue with the camera on this as there was on my old one.

I'm not going crazy, am I? The focus is off. The left side of the pictures aren't as clear as the right:

Can you think of anything that could be causing this other than a hardware issue? It's unlike I'd have 2 phones with almost exactly the same fault.

The build quality also isn't as good on this one. :(

Similar tale of woe from me also I am afraid, my first phone had dead pixels in the main area of view and the second phone had an faulty USB so I could not connect it to a PC.

Unfortunately I took it back to the shop on the 29th day so they had to send it away for repair instead of giving me a replacement.

It should be returned today so its fingers crossed they havent screwed it up or damaged it in any way

Three just called me actually to check everything was okay and are going to give me a call later on.

I want them to allow me to go into a shop tomorrow and pick up a new one. I can't be bothered with all the messing around of sending it back and waiting for it to return.

I think if you bought it online you have to do the return online

It's a shame that so many (even now, after it has been out for a few months) keep receiving units that aren't 'up to scratch'.

Hopefully you can both start enjoying the One soon! :)

Phone still in repair, they recieved it last wednesday and tried to follow up on it, said they would get back to me the next day again. As usual they didn't.
Thats about 5 times now they said they would contact me, but never ever got back to me.

So i will have been without phone for 20 days so far, with zero cares given by HTC.
Absolute joke of a company, their QC is terrible, CS terrible, phone is sort of half decent...

I've just found that my speakers pop every now and then which will be hard to prove.

Really bugs me when someone makes a good product but can't support it. I wanted to replace my Nexus 4 and had a replacement within 2 days.

Apparently the Roll Out has begun in Europe...UK is listed but just checked and no update available yet :(

http://www.t3.com/news/htc-one-android-4-2-2-update-rolls-out-across-europe

According to HTC Source, HTC One owners across northern Europe will now be able to download the Android 4.2.2 update.

The new update brings launcher bar enhancements, battery level percentage display, widget panel rearrangement, enhanced home button behaviour (black menu bar from screen removed), new Zeo file management, Android Daydream and more.

Additionally users can now remove all the icons from the dock, long press the home button to double up as a menu button, and operate Android native EQS.

The update has rolled out across Russia, Denmark, Georgia, Norway, Sweden, Romania, Serbia, UK and Finland, according to claims reported by HTC Source.

Android 4.2.2 update was first spotted in Taiwan a few days ago as a 417 MB download followed by a small 1.48 MB update.

HTC One users can check for the update manually through Settings > About > Software updates > Check now.

HTC unveiled the HTC One earlier this year as the company's new flagship phone, shipping with Android 4.1.2 and following up the HTC One X and HTC One X+.

HTC One features a 4.7-inch 1080p Full HD display, 4MP Ultrapixel camera and a 1.7GHz quad-core processor.
