***The Official HTC One Thread***

Got my One 3 months ago. The first i kept for just under 30 days but took back to CPW as the top speaker went very distauted. Now 2 months later and the new phone is starting to become distauted. Also this one has a gap at the top speaker and the front camera is full of crap rendering the camera useless.

Such a great phone, just hope I havent got to send it back every fews months because of the speaker.

Anyone else with top speaker problems?

Had some update on my One a couple of days ago, Android 4.2.2. now my phone is randomly vibrating and saying battery warning 31c or something like that... doesn't feel hot at all. This is why casually texting, screen not been left on....bug?

Do you have GSAM battery monitor?

If so it's the app and it's a bug.

So i went back to the nexus4, after using this for a month....

I LOVED my nexus4.... now i loath it!

I currently have a Nexus 4 and I am looking at two possible replacements. The HTC One and the new Note III depending on what Samsung do with it.

Care to explain briefly what it is you now dislike moving back to the Nexus? Sounds like it's a decent upgrade.

Gonna get one with Three now, you guys think get directly from them or for same price CPW and have the benefit of a physical shop to deal with if hardware problems?

A bigger benefit of CPW may well be that you could get a sim free unlocked handset rather than a 3 specific locked one (as they need to sell them on multiple networks) which you'll likely get from the network.

I would say if you are okay with the screen size, do as I am doing and hold on for the HTC one MAX, which should be a 6ish inch device.

The first thing that struck me Was the size. Now before I start I have only bought nexus android phones, and I have always rommed and rooted them, and not had another android device bar the nexus. The size, as I was saying is striking. The HTC One is less wide but taller. Made the 4.7 inch screen seem a lot bigger than the nexus 4s.and the way it fit the hand due to it being longer rather than wider made my hand never cramp. I have had the nex4 back for a week and I'm still cramping for any extended time. The curved back really works well on the HTC.

The we have the screen it self. Now for the nexus 4 I had and have faux kernel with PA or with xenonhdrom. I modify the colours to get as realistic as possible. I thought the nexus 4 was the best screen I had ever used, with the colours and the size and the sharpness. Boy was I wrong! It hit me with the move over, and u realised the HTC had a gorgeous screen, but it wasn't too I moved back to the Nexus did I realise how much it blows the nexus screen out of the water! The vividness, the whites, the blacks the lack of colour changing when you tilt the device, the sharpness (which I thought would be a fully none issue due to the ppi of the necus4) just everything you could say about a screen. I genuinely feel in love when I didn't have the HTC one screen. It's like going from an ssd to a had for me!

Smoothness we have roughly the same in the o's, so that wasn't apparent! Though when I was on the HTC one I did miss Pie and halo!

Currently I go through browsers like a mad man, but the HTC one aosp based browser was insanely fast and had so many features! I can't belive that I would choose that, a sense 5 item over all the other browsers but I am!

And sound! Both the speakers and headphone jack craps all over my nexus, even with faux clock and their sound adjustments. That been one of my biggest gripes along with the screen.

So many things have made me feel that my former beast of a phone, aka my n4x has been emasculated by the HTC one.

Now I can't wait for the one max, as after using a galaxy mega small screens seem pitiful!

I really wish HTC would get back on board with Google and produce the next Nexus device. It's about time they did it again. I know we have the GPE devices but they just aren't the same.

I honestly don't think you'll regret the switch really.

The camera is great much better than the N4, bigger storage, better screen, amazing speakers, great battery life, smooth (even on a sense ROM), build & feel while holding the device is superb. Really good to use one handed in my opinion, Although I did love both of those on my N4 also.

It has some nice features like the IR, Zoe & Car mode. To name a few.

You can even run the GPE rom also. The only downside to that now is that since 4.3 HTC have removed more of the sense framework so the Sense camera no longer works on GPE Roms. That is the only reason I am sticking to 4.2.2.

But modaco is working on a switcher so you can switch between Sense & GPE at a flick of a button.

I would say my biggest gripe with the phone its self is the default navigation buttons, They really are dire & I wish they would have used that little area for some on screen buttons or at least had a proper layout. Now I have those set up a little bit its not too bad, But like shaffaaf27 I do miss PIE :(

LMT is a good enough replacement for PIE isn't it Mattey?

I've set mine up along the bottom of the screen on my S3, and PA PIE on my S4.

I have to say around 4 months into my purchase now and I still love my phone...even more so with the Poetic case which in no way ruins the look of the phone.

I can see me using this for 2 years at least...unless something as technically sound comes out :p

I would use it but there really is no point with the navigation buttons being there, I just wish they could have had onscreen buttons where the navigation is now.
