***The Official HTC One Thread***

Is it a common issue? Hope I don't have this issue arise as mine is an S so is meant for China so not sure on my warranty lol

Common issue?

Is 65 pages on XDA a common issue? I would say so.

Most people may not have noticed if they don't shoot pics under a certain light.

It is common enough for HTC to now use a completely different sensor.

It's a shame because I actually thought they were past all of this considering the problems they had with the One X.

It's even more of a shame they plan to use the exact same sensor for the sucessor of the HO as well... it has potential but it does need some improvement.

It's something to do with the shielding they used, it wasn't enough. So when the phone heats up, it can potentially cause a permanent purple effect which is what has happened to mine.

I don't trust the phone at all now. It was my pick of the bunch, but this quality control issue has forced me to look elsewhere.

I use the T9 predictive text on the phone keypad keyboard type.

Since some update at some point the space bar button is very small and has a full stop right next to it.

The.result.of.this.is.that messages i.type quickly.sometimes.come.out like.this.

Is there a way around this - a new keyboard perhaps, that lets me keep the predictive text input I want?

is this only an issue with earlier models?

my one x had a bad WiFi antenna, the xda thread has 400 pages! this was only an issue with early models though. if it wasn't for sense ui I would probably never get a htc again.

Try swiftkey Fox.

Not sure, no idea how long O2 store had the stock. I only got the phone 2 weeks ago nearly.

On the XDA thread it seems even newer models have the camera problem due to poor heat shielding. You would've thought HTC would've done something by now considering it's been nearly a year.

So... HTC UK Twitter still mentions end of January for the update. So hopefully tomorrow... But there is a lot of tweets about the wifi problem... Hopefully it's something quick and easy to fix.

Just realised I never bothered to upgrade my One to Android 4.4.

Is there any point? What changes are there? Does it break anything or change anything?

I am thinking of getting a One, I can get a brand new one in stealth black for £130, well worth it i reckon? fantastic phone as well.. any issues and flaws on it? I've never played with one before, I am an Android user though, come from Nexus 4 to Moto G etc.. battery life good?

Is it stolen? Why would it only be £130?

If its legit its a no brainer, even if only to sell on again!

It's off a friend he owes me some money an he got an upgrade with Three so said I can buy it off him for £130 and knock off what he owes me, he's keeping his iPhone, Love the black one as well.

Would sell for £250 at least won't it? I'll probably keep it and get rid of the moto g.

How is battery life on the One? Can't be as bad as the Nexus 4 can it? if it's as good as the Moto G it's a winner for me.

It's very good and easily lasts more than a day for me with about 4-5 hours on screen time. But it will depend on your sort of usage.

Doesn't work. After a while the problem gets worse. No software fix will ever solve the hardware problem.

Sounds good to me, and ahh that's a shame, not much of a problem for me I'm not really into taking photos etc..

So whats happened to 4.4 I thought we were supposed to be having it by the end of Jan. It's a bit disappointing to read that it seems to be appearing in parts of Europe but nothing in the UK.
I've got a sim free One and still nothing :(
Come on htc pull your finger out.

There is some discussion about who HTC meant when when the end of Jan was mentioned. Some say the end of Jan applied to the US. Anyway, it's rolling out slowely. CID HTC_001 was last to get 4.3 so imagine as you'll be HTC_001 as I am in UK, we'll be last again. On the up side we'll know what the issues are goin to be if there is any  We'll hopefully get it soon though I'm not sure what great improvements we can expect

I've just recieved my HTC One back from HTC Support as sent it back for repair. There's always a warning that at repair the phone will be wiped and latest software loaded. I did wonder if it would come back loaded with 4.4 but it didn't.

I will say HTC support were very good. I contacted them at Christmas with a boot loop problem which resolved itself though did re occur again lately ending up with phone being dead. I pointed out before sending it back it was second hand and that I had no original receipt (despite contacting original ebay seller ... thanks for nothing ) and when I managed to get into boot menu noticed the word 'Tampered' at top of the menu  They received the phone for repair last Friday and had it on its way back to me on Monday and all without charge. Many thanks HTC and nice to get good service :) Certainly gone way up in my estimations of late and going right off Motorola :D:D
