***The Official HTC One Thread***

Good thing I checked this thread and saw that Vodafone were putting out the update.

Downloading now on the slow office internet...

Downloading 4.4.2 for my unlocked One now, I'm glad the wait is over, hopefully this will fix my intermittent batter problem.

Call me cynical but are htc trying to restore out faith in them just before tomorrow launch event, I was beginning to get a bit hacked of at the slow release for KK, oh well it's hear now :-)

Installed new update and now can't connect to my home wi-fi ........ Great!

Found the answer in the end! Pinched from someone else:
To fix wi-fi problem on 4.4.2 android you have to rename Wi-fi Direct device name.
To do that you have to go:
WiFi - then 3 dots - WiFi Direct - 3 dots - Rename Device - HTC One.

has anyone else's phone icon on the lockscreen stopped working?

Might be best to remove it then add it back on. Could be related but Nova launcher doesn't seem to recognise the phone/people app and uses the stock HTC icons instead of the stock AOSP icons.

how do I do that then? I can never find the menu to change the lockscreen

Fixed the issue with the phone icon. Relatively simple to fix it on the desktop, had to re-add the phone icon to nova. Then had to switch back to the stock launcher, launch the dialer, revert to nova and then it was working on the lockscreen again.

The screen on my One has decided that it no longer wants to be a part of the phone and has started to detach from the body.

I've mailed HTC about it as I'm not amused. My previous handset, the One X had to be replaced 3 times due to various issues and now this. :(

4G sure isn't kind on the battery.

Actual 4g is better for battery life, when compared too 3g for a lot of devices these days. Chips are not hungry anymore and data well come much faster letting the chip go to sleep. At least that is the case with newer chipsets.

Don't Hotlink

Take a look at the difference in things like the Nexus 5, iPhone 5/s/c there is a drop when going to 3g.

I'm not sure how others are fairing but the battery life certainly seems better on KK, I've made a couple of short calls, done a fair bit of browsing and have my exchange account pushing and the battery is now on 79% :) Rather pleased with that.
