I was on the fence on colour alone, but when taking account the finger prints and potential iPhone style chips I went silver.

Also I have the blue SGS3 and previously had the black S2 and S1 so I am happy for a change this time round.
 
When i saw the HTC One in a phones 4 u shop a few weeks back, i have to say the silver one looks very nice. Havent seen a black one yet but if i was to get one, id get the silver for sure.
 
Silver looks the best and not because I just bought one. I initially went for the black and usually go for black phones but it just didn't grab me this time round. You can hardly see the features of the One on the black phone, for some reason the contrast between the black screen and silver speaker grills top and bottom look great, but it's all a matter of taste.

@Nexus I haven't been able to do a video test yet, but here's a link to a 1080p back camera sample. I hope it will suffice.

Indeed and no doubt the gs 4 will gets it own wee stand in the 3 network shops with a big Samsung TV above showing the phone of where as the htc one will be bunched up with all the crappy phones :p :(

IIRC HTC have maxed out their marketing budget though and even took away bonuses.



Thanks stoosh, the audio is amazing, very clear and loud, shame about the light metering though :( But the video was very smooth :cool: I think I could live with the camera on this (as long as the camera is as good as the "good" samples that we have seen i.e. android central, technobuffalo, phonearena etc.) as there are improvements in quite a few areas over the likes of the GS 3, one S etc. i.e. low light/dark conditions, smooth video recording, great audio recording, zoe features amongst other things like faster focus etc.

And yup, the silver model definitely highlights the wee unique areas of the one much better than the black, you know me though, I just like black :p "does it come in black"...... :p :D

HTC unfortunately don't have much money to play with and don't have the spending power compared to Samsung who are very savvy at promoting their products and have lots of money at their disposal.
 
What's interesting is that when you go to buy a contract phone with Three the HTC One is listed first, wonder if they paid for that placement?

No worries Nexus I thought that the light metering was off as well in the video, but overall it's passable and isn't a shoddy mess. The camera samples are decent and the phone takes above average pictures, where it has an advantage over other phones is the low light and dark conditions.

I haven't had much chance to use the phone and it's actually sitting upstairs on a table with no sim card in it! :eek: None of my Google Play apps have been installed either, something that I will have to get around to doing tonight. :D

I am aware of your aversion to devices that are colours other than black! :p The Silver One is just to good looking to pass.

If you decide to get the One you won't be disappointed and that's from my very limited play with the phone.
 
Where are all you guys ordering the phone from? Or have most of you only pre-ordered it?

The only cheapest place to get the phone sim free which is in stock is from Phones4U, but that's only for the silver one. The black one (which I'm after) is still pre-order only for release on the 27th.
