*** The official HTC One X thread ***

Oh I can, like now! But I'm walking to and from various buildings so it's easier surfing on the go.

Just got my One X. How long does it need charging for the first time?

I thought that this actually turned out to be the 1.28 changelog.....originally reported as 1.29, but subsequently questioned.....

Recently got my One X and I'm just waiting for my number to port over (should be today), but this sudden rush of people posting problems with their devices has got me concerned. Is there a list of known hardware issues and how to check to see if a device suffers from them???

Yeah but it's a convex surface, not concave (unless my eyes and hands deceived me...)! So laying flat it still rests on the screen.

Not really..i just put my One X on my desk face down and theres a tiny little gap between the screen and the desk. Mind you its a very very tiny gap but there definitely is there. Anyhow who in their right minds would put their phone face down?? lol...ive always kept all my phones face up.

Still no 1.29 update on my tmo branded HOX.

Yellow 'spots' - appear after a week or two normally..
Dead pixels - any phone can have those
Loose screen - the whole screen lifts, and you physically see the flex if you apply slight pressure to the screen.
Grey screen flickering - believed to be software, part of the Tegra 3 battery saving regime.

To be honest, these are issues HTC are sorting/sorted, and I'm sure anyone getting issues will be able to get their phone repaired/replaced and all will be good..

All the other niggly issues have been dealt with via software

Android supports gesture based actions like muting ringers/music or declining a call by placing the phone face down when it beeps or snoozing an alarm etc.

Does the X not support these then?

My interest when playing with it has only been the camera and screen side of things so haven't checked those out.

Yes it does, just tried it by making a call but usually my phones including the One X are always on vibrate or silent. Turning the phone upside down on the One X only mutes the ringtone, it doesnt decline or anything like that.

Network administration involves doing work when servers/switches and things connected to them bork. The rest is monitoring, visiting server rooms and keeping a general eye on stuff physically and looking up ways to further improve network performance. At least that's my role capacity anyway.

That doesn't mean you can't surf the web among duties...

Maybe your work environment is more strict.

Quite a good list of things on XDA forum, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26000212, also a few other threads. I just looked in them.

If I were you, I would check for any dead pixels (some apps can help with this), and dirt/marks under the screen. Check all the buttons too :).

The ones I had when turned upside down, there was no gap. It just rested on the screen..

HTC have had some of those features in for ages, before anyone else!

Flip for the speaker, etc.

I thought the same but after putting it face down on my desk at work, plus its brightly lit my office...if i pass my hands on the other side of the phone, i can see the shadow...as i said its a very tiny gap, probably a few micrometers if anything but there is a gap there for sure. Plus look at the phone from a side view and it looks like its a concave shape ie the screen curves slightly inward....at least thats what it looks like to me, maybe my eyes are deceiving me:p
