*** The official HTC One X thread ***

i have 1.29.401.07

what does the other update have?

I'm on 07 and with this firmware and the one before my wifi is shocking I have a Billion 7800n in a 2 bedroom flat and my iphone has signal all over the flat but the One X seems to loose it all the time and has general poor signal :(

Added to the fact I live in a small village the o2 signal is poor so I rely on my wifi at home... Hope .11 helps..

Have you tried turning on the 'max performance' option in the advanced WiFi options?

I did set it to turn the wifi off when idle/sleep

Will have a look at that now

Thanks

"Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" What does everyone else have theirs set to?

Maybe this is what canes the battery?

I have WiFi set to "always on", but max performance mode "off", and my idle battery consumption is basically a flat line (pretty awesome!).

Does anyone else have lag on the PIN number unlock screen though?! This is what's really pee'ing me off about this phone!!!

That and the random Swype keyboard miniaturising itself...

Sometimes my screen is unresponsive on the unlock swipe screen. Have to standby it and put it back on. Annoying, but not so much.

1.29.401.11

- New HBOOT: 0.95, New Radio: 1.1204.105.14, Kernel version: 2.6.39.4-gc9932b1
- A german site (android-hilfe.de) is claiming any screen flickering should resolve itself within two weeks of using this update, apparently some voltage values were changed in the update. They report you're able to speed up this process by manually setting brightness to 100%.
- Some are reporting much less screen flickering right after installing the update
- The SD card storage issue (disappearing empty disk space) appears resolved for some
- The bug that caused taiwanese text to be shown on the task management screen in the french locale has been resolved
- Wifi issues (related to both signal strength and wifi seemingly disabling itself) a lot of us are suffering by have unfortunately not been resolved
- Battery reporting (or calibration) is reported to be affected by the update in some way or the other
- Multitasking improved; most apps, including the browser, now stay open after having been sent to background

My wireless is not right at all, at home with a Billion 7800n go to next room and iPhone 4s has 4 bars HTC showing none, go to external doors and iPhone showing 2 bars web nice and snappy and HTC says "out of range" anything I can do to fix chaps?

Stupid question probably... just tried a Skype Video call; worked really well, except I couldn't get it on to speakerphone?! Bit useless having a video call if all they can see is a close up of the side of your head :p you would have thought it would go to speakerphone by default!

Any idea how to enable this please guys? I can't find the option :(

Cheers,

Su

What headsets are people using with this handset, like the inner ear buds but also like the outer padded style for comfort and sound quality

Any recommendations

Thanks

Anyone know if 1.29.401.11 resolves the issue where the phone won't switch back to GSM after it's only had wifi available ?

Saying that I only had .07 pushed to me the other day and I have a sim free phone so goodness knows when I'll get .11

well chitter chatter wasnt much help best they could do was a £26 per month on a 24 month contract + 50 quid for the phone, if they could have done 26 on a 18 month i would have been all over it, but looks like its the vodaphone deal for me for my new toy.

Flash the RUU, doesn't effect the warranty. No different to an OTA update.

Anyway mines going back, GPS has gone mad. Skips all over the place, tried all the usual fixes. Something they'll probably software fix later I would imagine. Think I'll wait for the GS3.

Not flashed a android phone before, can you just flash it as in uploading a programme or is it a lot more involved.

Thanks

If you're flashing RUU you simply just click on the .exe and click ok a few times. Beware a RUU will wipe your phone though.

Well I got one on the phones4u vodafone 12 month deal. Love the phone and everything is fine so far. Used Top cashback, which was tracking the cashback within a day or two.

Interestingly I downloaded the "my vodafone" app today. My texts show as unlimited and I have unlimited data for 3 months of data test drive. The deal was 300 mins, 3000 texts and 500mb of data.
