*** The official HTC One X thread ***

I'm thinking of flashing to ARHD6. How easy would it be to flash back to stock if the worst happened hardware wise?

Robbo, could you please explain what a capacitive menu/muti-tasking button is please?

the button to the right of the home key - opens up the multitasking menu.

He says "the capacitive multi-tasking button was a bad choice [on the One x]"
and "Samsung have taken a far more sensible approach with the capacitive menu button option".

So I'd like to understand what he means there.

he'd rather have a menu button where the multitasking button is - and hold down the home button to bring up multitasking.

Gets rid of the stupid 3 dots in some apps.

Decent review and after a few weeks of mine im pretty much of the same view. The battery isnt that great, been using it more as my BB9900 has gone in for repair so wont have it for about a week so gives me the perfect opportunity to really give it some use.

Sense is quite buggy i have found and can lag which is a shame really as its meant to be a quad core. Seems like HTC still cant get their software optimised properly ie Sense. Not so sure on the build quality, it does look cheap but for some odd reason it doesnt feel that cheap in the hand. Totally agree with you on the volume buttons, they havent done a good job on that...find that my hands keep pressing them when im putting the phone in my case.

Not 110% sure if ill keep this, waiting for the SGS3 to come out then have a play with that...if i like the SGS3 then ill just sell the One X or if i dont then ill wait till Oct time for my upgrade and see whats out. Heard that Google are releasing 5 new phones around that time so will see whats what and decide then. Ultimately i might just keep the One X if i dont like the SGS3 or anything else that comes out later this year. Best to keep your options open i guess:p

Indeed, the 3 dot menu everywhere really is a joke.

I'm tempted to root and stick on Android Rev HD, it's faster, more stable and smoother with better battery life apparently.

Does anyone have their camera set to standard ratio instead of the default widescreen? I find the widenscreen ratio a little awkward when cropping the photo for forums/web.

If you flash this your warranty is voided as you would have to unlock the boot loader via HTC's website.

I've used the HTCdev website but not unlocked my phone yet. There is no way I'm not covered: I'm pretty sure using a website can't void the warranty on my phone. I assume HTC can tell if a phone has been unlocked and relocked. I'm still waiting to hear back from them.

The code given to HTC in the course of unlocking the phone is probably unique and maybe based on the imei number, also as you said it says 'Relocked' if you relock the boot loader. And on XDA at least 1 person has had their warrenty claim rejected for a hardware problem because the phone was unlocked, also someone got posted a online chat that they had with a HTC manager in which he stated that HTC would reject all warrenty claims if the phone has been unlocked.

Do you have to re-enter your APN settings perhaps? I guess you've checked this first though?

I reflashed the ROM and everything worked fine.

Well, except the fact it seems to get quite hot during normal usage such as browsing and so forth. But it's a warm day so who knows...
