*** The official HTC One X thread ***

anyone know when the next batch is expected? current batch is HT25 which is start of may i think?? dont know

ive spent last couple days on and off reading through the entire thread and hope they start fixing these bugs and manufacturing problems out.

im not liking the steping backwards design of the S3 with its cheap plastic look reminds me of some tacky cheap £.99p cases from fleabay :D
was especially shocked watchin a video recently where a rep removed the back cover it was like peeling rubber off it was that thin :( not good

anyway im looking to get mine in the next couple of weeks :). from a certain rainforest (someone else said that earlier :D ) for sim free option (giffgaff)...

here's hoping i......

a..get one from a newer batch.
b..get a tiawan one as they seem to have the least problems (most problems are with chinese ones)

...you can find yours including batch number on paper around the box above barcode

heres hoping im lucky as this will be my first new phone since 2001 :D

Is anyone who's using ARHD 6 finding that it's making the phone quite hot?

After I first flashed ARHD I put on the Franco r5 kernel and started to notice it was getting warm. General usage was bringing the battery up past 40c. It seemed to idle between 30c and 37c. I read on XDA that a few people were experiencing the same thing with that kernel so I decided to go flash ARHD again to get rid of the r5 kernel.

But the phone's still getting pretty warm. Wondered if temperatures between 30c and 45c were normal?

Mine seems fine with 6 + r5 :)

Normally, I would find it absolutely ridiculous that technically aware people such as the populace of this forum would not root their android phones. In the case of this phone though, I can understand why :p

Decent review and after a few weeks of mine im pretty much of the same view. The battery isnt that great, been using it more as my BB9900 has gone in for repair so wont have it for about a week so gives me the perfect opportunity to really give it some use.

Sense is quite buggy i have found and can lag which is a shame really as its meant to be a quad core. Seems like HTC still cant get their software optimised properly ie Sense. Not so sure on the build quality, it does look cheap but for some odd reason it doesnt feel that cheap in the hand. Totally agree with you on the volume buttons, they havent done a good job on that...find that my hands keep pressing them when im putting the phone in my case.

Not 110% sure if ill keep this, waiting for the SGS3 to come out then have a play with that...if i like the SGS3 then ill just sell the One X or if i dont then ill wait till Oct time for my upgrade and see whats out. Heard that Google are releasing 5 new phones around that time so will see whats what and decide then. Ultimately i might just keep the One X if i dont like the SGS3 or anything else that comes out later this year. Best to keep your options open i guess:p

Indeed, my summary could probably read to some people as if I'm saying it's a bad phone. It's not - it's great, but it's also flawed in a few areas quite badly. Unfortunately most phones are.

Aye. The fact that your warranty is 100% void if you root by any method is obscene. There's nothing massively new about this, but it's the fact the hardware appears to be prone to faults and failures that makes it a risk not worth taking.

I'll wait and see what the next couple of OTA updates bring, then I'll probably root mine. I can't see any problems arising after a couple of months anyway. Worst case scenario, I'll have to bin it. :p

As far as I'm aware, warranty agreements do not affect your statutory rights as far as 'fit for purpose' is concerned. You'd have a hard time arguing your case, but hardware faults arising after rooting, but within a reasonable period of purchase, should still be a worthy cause for return.

Right again my phone has been getting stupidly hot in my pocket, i know its pretty warm outside but surely that shouldnt have an effect on my phone getting hot.

Ive checked to see if any rogue apps are running but i always close the apps down after using them. Ive restarted my phone a few times but seems like the overheating problem keeps coming back...so im at a loss as it happened the other day too.

Might have to take the phone back to tmo and get them to fix it or send it off, which means 2 weeks ill be without a phone....great really as im without my BB9900 at the moment and if this one needs to be sent back, ill be without 2 phones grrrrr.

why do you think they are having so many problems with the phones build and software?

do they just have really poor Quality Control compared to rivals?

was just wondering as some faults by the looks of it can happen out the blue.

It's just one of those things really, Apple had problems with the iPhone 4 when it launched with screens being dodgy. This is a bit more widespread, but I'm sure they'll sort it out.

cant wait to get mine :D

going to see which colour i like but still thinking the white is nicer :)

going to get a exomount Universal Mount ready for it ...anyone tried this mount looks good especially with the mutli suface suction pad

just ignore the item its crushing :P

Mine hasn't crashed once yet, no screen issues of any kind so far can't fault the phone really, all that is needed is the video camera sorting out, I am pleased with the phone and I will only be changing it when I see what the I5 has to offer.

I was super excited when the GS2 was coming out but since getting the HOX the GS3 really offers nothing better than I have now on this and why I will be giving it a miss.

Engadget review of the SIII prefers the One X

Note that the vast majority of their comparison was against the AT&T One X which has the Snapdragon S4 processor, NOT the gimped One X we have with the Tegra 3 junk :p

The AT&T One X is a better phone than the UK/International one by a fairly reasonable margin...
