*** The official HTC One X thread ***

Shame but X & S will fade into the background. Only saving grace imho is that the One S is a great phone just lacking in storage space. The One X is a bit of a lemon and I think HTC know this (nice screen however) I so wanted the X to kick arse but compared to say the S3 it kinda misses the mark.

Calling it a lemon might be a bit strong :D It's a pretty good phone really. I have issues with signal dropping but reconnects pretty quickly, though it is so variable. Other than that I've had none of the issues others have had so maybe been lucky. I did hope the signal issue with both the S and X might be resolved.

All that said my notification light has gone really dim. You can just see it charging if the room is dark but you really have to look to see it. Thought it might be covered in dust but it's not so. Guess I'll have to live without that now

I haven't had a single problem with my HTC One X....

I've not got much problems with my One-X, just battery draining like no tomorrow, rubbish signal, internet dropping out (H works but 3G no web loading), wi-fi either drops out or disconnects.

I do however want there to be a day when I have a decent smartphone that is relatively problem free.

This will affect you stock sim free one X owners as well now, so might as well give you a heads up:

Spoke with a friend of mine who is a 3 store manager. He has it on very reliable information that from now onwards that HTC will be updating carrier branding updates before sim free.

I'm taking him as gospel as he has very rarely been wrong before (was a couple of days out on update and phone release dates) but nothing that has been blatantly fabricated.

This is regarding the one S and the 4.0.4 android update, which you guys received about a month ago iirc.

Essentially the 4.0.4 was released for the one S on the 22nd August, 3 or so weeks later UK devices only start receiving the update now, however, not sim free phones, but orange, vodafone, 3 and T-mobile only. Sim free devices should have received the update weeks ago, but due to this stupid new policy of theirs, we didn't.........

My One X disconnects from wifi when the phone is in standby? Is this an issue or a feature  This can be an issue if I'm downloading a large file as it seems it still disconnects once it's gone into standby, other than that it reconnects straight away when woken up. Mobile network signal is rubbish too for me. Better than the One S but still pretty poor none the less. Sometimes loses 3G/H and either a reboot or airplane mode required to force it back on. This can be an issue when on Three who are 3g only.

Careful - you'll have the iPhone fanboys on here :D

You can but hope. With HTC it seems as the One X and S were rushed out and no one bothered to test them first. Certainly won't have done them any good and I for one will look elsewhere next time I buy a phone though the grass may not be a lot greener on the other side of the fence

The WiFi issue you're getting is a feature I believe, in the settings there is an option to keep WiFi on.

I think even with the problems I'd still rather have the OneX over an iPhone 5, I like the bigger screen, the screen seems amazing, the camera is pretty damn awesome.

A lemon?? :p Cmon, its still one of the highest performing most feature rich phones out there. I've had no issues with mine other than living in an area with poor reception.....

Well I've had mine for 3 months now.

Good points...
Good build feels good. Screen awesome. Battery life about 2x better than my desire can go all day without recharging.

The bad...
Has to be the very sketchy signal issues my desire could get a reception from mars and never drop

Well after trying a dozen or so roms over the past months I've finally settled on one - viper rom. I can actually get 4 hours screen time on wifi and it's very fluid as well. On 3g the time is less but I guess the radio sucks all the juice.

Hello, is that true hTC release another phone and it's name is One X+ ?

I'm impressed a lot. Personally, I was thinking to buy 8X but still don't know should I change my One X to 8X phone or not because 8X phone is looks good.. If there is release date, can someone give me source about the one x plus because I'd like to buy plus too.

Sorry for my bad English, I hope you'll understand me correctly. :)

Pretty much agree with that. Other annoyance is rebooting in my pocket due to power button getting squeezed when sitting down or crouching/bending over. Bigger trousers doesn't make a lot of difference either  Ditto signal but better than the One S it replaced though not as good as the Desire I used to have too.

Tried Viper X first and never tried anything else. Battery is good to excellent for size of screen, tweaks are useful and phone is slick all round with good support from devs there :D Can't ask for a lot more - though some do there on XDA

The One X+ just has an overclocked Tegra 3 processor I believe and JB out of the box. Maybe different colours too.

Of which JB is supposed to be coming to the One X sometime soon or maybe next month according to reports online.

I've just noticed the price of the One X has dropped below £400 - £395.99 to be exact, that's a drop of £35, does that mean something new in the way of a Android phone is around the corner, are htc moving stock to make way for it
