*** The official HTC One X thread ***

I'm usually the same had iPhones and Nokias in black, something about the One X in white that I'm draw to though, All down to personal taste at the end of the day

Indeed, generally I'd go for black but I think the One X looks infinitely better in white!

You're saying you'd resist getting any phone in white purely because iPhones come in that colour?

Seriously, get a grip

Did I actually say that?
Pop back to my post and read it again. I made it quite clear I did not want White. If the One X only came in White then yes, I would resist this phone because of that.
I do not like White phones. I think the iPhone is a poor piece of kit on the best of days, in white it is even worse.

So when I buy a new phone, something I'll have for 18-24 months I want to get it in a colour I actually like. I have got no intention of EVER buying a phone in "iPhone White".
Seriously - is this such a tough thing to cope with?

This would be a big upgrade for me and i would def be keeping it the full 2 years on any contract, but am wary will the 1gb ram be enough as at moment i am using a htc desire z which has 500mb ram and free to phone 368mb and it always seems to be loading refreshing main screen when i used few things i presume this is a ram issue as half of time only has 50mb spare to play with sometimes less

And dont want same issue other than that i no it will be a fantastic upgrade

Check IMEI as in its not nicked or dodgy in anyway? Hope they have white in stock tomorrow sim free if I get down there..

Thanks

Yeah i think so, when i asked if they would trade he said "sure, i just need to check the IMEI number first, and make sure it works and is not damaged". After he checked everything, he said everything seems ok, and sorted it all out.

Reports on xda indicate the home screen reloading is still there at times, it's something to do with sense not locking in memory so the phone can dump the ui causing a reload when you return to home screen. Used to happen on my desire HD drove me mad having to wait 20 odd seconds to start using your phone again.

Good point that you raised their lake2k :)

What is the RAM usage of the new sense like? As the old versions hogged a lot of the RAM. And I believe HTC said they have tried to make sense as light as possible now.

EDIT:

Would a 3rd party launcher like go ex solve that problem Tatsuki?

Thats one of reasons am debating an s3 if when ever it comes out with its 2gb a ram, as the amoled screen not to bothered about and dont really no much about s2 do they suffer lag even though they have 1gb ram

The S 2 is extremely quick and one of the smoothest android phones and is still up there with the one series.

It has more free RAM than the older HTC mobiles with the older bloated versions of sense, however, I don't know what the new sense is like regarding RAM hogging but I imagine that touchwiz will still be a fair bit lighter and even more so with the new touchwiz when S3 is released.

EDIT:

It also depends on the apps that you use and what you leave running in the background 24/7, I still consider 512MB to be plenty for normal usage (on stock android ROMs) and 1GB to be more than enough :p :D

Sense 3.5 was certainly a vast improvement over the previous builds. Flashed a stock Sense 3.5 on my Desire Z just now and the difference is phenominal. I can only guess that Sense 4 is even better.

So i spent my first full day with it today and i must say im in absolutle love with this thing, Sense is actually not bad, The screen is just so good for web browsing, will be hard to go back to anything smaller,

It feels so nice in the hand, you can tell HTC have put a lot of thought into this as the craftmanship is just amazing.

I dont know what Fox was on about. I have the SGSII and now the white one X and these phones feel worlds aparrt, The samsung feels like a lower tier phone compared to it. if you have held a lumina 800 it feels just as solid as that but much better finished

In the end it's a personal choice, for example someone on another forum had the X but just felt it was too big and took it back to replace it with the S.

My girly got one one of these yesterday (in black since white looked "to girly"...) and having spent much of today playing around with it all I can say is this:
I love my gs2 dearly but I get the same feeling I got when I went from my desire to gs2 when using the X one. It's awesome.
Gs3 better be amazing else I'll be getting one too!

and here comes the first annoyance,

you cant transfer files bigger than 4GB to the phone! im trying to copy a 7GB MKV and this phone is not having it as the 25GB parition of the phone is in FAT, i even formated it to NTFS and the phone just changed it back to FAT, that kinda sucks!
