*** The official HTC One X thread ***

I don't think I will be that bothered about no dedicated camera button TBH.

Currently have it on my galaxy spica (android) but I don't really see the big deal about it :p (I use my camera quite a lot as well)

The things which are putting me off the one S at the minute are;

- non removable battery

battery could be faulty meaning that it has to be shipped away and waiting for 2 weeks or more for it to be fixed

Rooting and flashing a custom ROM and having the mobile freeze after a certain time where it won't respond at all and the only alternative is to pull the battery but with the way it is now, you can't thus leaving you with a paper weight

If you want better battery life then you can't buy an extended battery

I have read a few comments saying that battery life is pretty much the same as the GS 2

- pentile screen

Granted the screen will still look better than the GS 2 in some ways, but it would have been even better if they used RGB instead

- storage

Will be enough for me at present, however, what about in a year or 2? Granted the 25GB dropbox helps make up for the lack of SD slot in some ways, also regarding that;

1. Does 25GB get added on to our current amount of space or do we only get brought up to 25GB?

BTW how easy is it to root and flash a custom ROM on HTC devices nowadays?

God knows how it happened but I somehow just signed up to a £31 24 month £100 upfron deal with t-mobile, and I'm regretting it already.

The deal they gave me is no different to what is on their website for new customers.:(

Tempted to just cancel my contract and sign up for another deal.

Went into phones4u in town today to look at htc one X and ended up taking one home. I currently have an Omnia 7, contract ends in June but phones 4u bought me out my contract.

I got HtC One X in black on o2, 36 quid a for 24 months. Unlimited texts, unlimited minutes, 1gb internet. I haven't used android for ages but first impressions are, holy **** this phone is awesome. The screen is so good!

are there any decent cases for it yet?

Also any essential tweaks to do with the Rom or anything?

I got my white X on that deal, but im getting the HDMI dongle for free when it comes out. Funny enough today i used my phone as normal in town a few calls, check the cricket etc and after 4hrs 30mins battery is on 94% still, seemed a lot better than yesterday.

Just been having a look on XDA at the HTC one S sub-forum and found these 2 threads:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1548396

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1558039

Battery life sounds very promising and the screen doesn't seem to be as much of an issue as it was on the previous AMOLED screens based on the pentile matrix :)

Also a couple of developers, who are/may be getting the S;

I believe that HyDrOG3N ROM for the GS 2 is very popular in the GS 2 thread here.

Don't think I'm impressed enough with the X and S ... means I can hang on till S3 :)

What phone have you got now? I'd say to anyone with a Sensation, Galaxy S2, Galaxy Note or Galaxy Nexus not to bother upgrading, not by a long way (and apart from the Sensation I have all of those phones and the One X so no bias here).

I've got both the One X and One S on my desk at the moment :) I will try to do some comparisons.

One thing I have noticed is the One S is very slightly more snappier than the One X in menus. I'm talking milliseconds, when pressing both buttons at the same time.

I've not got massive hands and I just found the One X slightly too big to navigate around when holding with one hand. It's amazing what a few millimeters does to the way you handle the phone.

I think once the One X has been AOSP'ed it will fly.

I'm trying to find a decent deal. How does this sound?

£150 up front for the One X.
18 months at £25 per month.
300 cross net mins, 300 texts, 3Gb data.

I can get the HTC One X for £20 on an 18-month upgrade from T-Mobile. I currently have a SGS and have 2 batteries for it now one thing which is keeping me away from the HTC One X at the moment is the lack of a removable battery. I use my SGS a lot for as a GPS and WiFi Access point but each battery will last me about 24hours with that kind of use and I doubt the One X will come even close.

Can users please post how you get on with the battery on the One X it would be very much appreciated.

You can purchase a phone charger rather than additional batteries. With each battery giving you 24 hours use i am sure you sleep at some point during those hours, plug it in.

I still dont understand all the people moaning about battery life on these phones, my desire is 2 years old, i stream a lot of vids/music on it and browse a lot and yet it never dies during the day n i just plug it in every night,

Would you be willing to do a battery comparison test?

Not the usual battery tests, but real life tests use one phone as normal and switch to the other. See which one lasts longer doing the same daily tasks.

Pleeeeease :)
