So I was trying to show a colleague at work a feature of Android, namely the barcode scanning app. Hmm the ruddy green lines are back!
Rather than send it back again and since the problem was an app corrupting the camera (well Vodafone said a downloaded ringtone/an MMS/an app but I've not downloaded any ringtones or had any MMSs) I thought I would uninstall some apps and see if they were responsible.
I got rid of a few and checked the camera app after each one but no change. Then I thought I'd better restart the phone. I checked the camera after the restart and hey presto, it's back to normal. I emailed myself a list from aTrackDog this afternoon before I started removing apps so if I create a new one to reflect the apps left I can compare the two lists and see what apps I've removed. Then I'll install each one at a time and check the camera. If it seems fine I'll restart the phone and see if that causes the problem to re-occur. I'm determined to work out the culprit of the green lines but I'm happy that I've found out that I can actually repair the phone and I didn't really need to send it back to Vodafone in the first place.
If I can narrow the app causing the camera issues down to a handful I might post back and name the suspects to see if anyone else's Sensation either a) has the same app and b) has the same problem so that we can work out if its my phone that's doing this because of the app or is it the app screwing up all Sensations!

What network are you with? I'm with Vodafone and my Sensation is running 1.27.161.1. Checking for an update tells me there's no new updates so I'm guessing you're on a different network to me to be getting these updates?my phone found a firmware update yesterday.
Installed, but don't notice any changes. 1.35.401.1
