***The Official HTC Sensation thread***

So I was trying to show a colleague at work a feature of Android, namely the barcode scanning app. Hmm the ruddy green lines are back!

Rather than send it back again and since the problem was an app corrupting the camera (well Vodafone said a downloaded ringtone/an MMS/an app but I've not downloaded any ringtones or had any MMSs) I thought I would uninstall some apps and see if they were responsible.

I got rid of a few and checked the camera app after each one but no change. Then I thought I'd better restart the phone. I checked the camera after the restart and hey presto, it's back to normal. I emailed myself a list from aTrackDog this afternoon before I started removing apps so if I create a new one to reflect the apps left I can compare the two lists and see what apps I've removed. Then I'll install each one at a time and check the camera. If it seems fine I'll restart the phone and see if that causes the problem to re-occur. I'm determined to work out the culprit of the green lines but I'm happy that I've found out that I can actually repair the phone and I didn't really need to send it back to Vodafone in the first place.

If I can narrow the app causing the camera issues down to a handful I might post back and name the suspects to see if anyone else's Sensation either a) has the same app and b) has the same problem so that we can work out if its my phone that's doing this because of the app or is it the app screwing up all Sensations! :p

my phone found a firmware update yesterday.

Installed, but don't notice any changes. 1.35.401.1
What network are you with? I'm with Vodafone and my Sensation is running 1.27.161.1. Checking for an update tells me there's no new updates so I'm guessing you're on a different network to me to be getting these updates?

I'm with T-Mobile but my phone is unbadged & has no T-Mobile software on it.
Sounds like yours is Vodafone badged & you need to wait for an update from them.

Got mine yesterday and am impressed so far.

I went from an HTC Magic to an iPhone 4 to the Sensation. The Magic was rooted with CM's roms and ran very nicely, well as far as I was concerned at the time, but this unrooted Sensation, come on HTC get a move on, is smooth as silk so far.

I look forward to seeing what it can do once the modders get their hands on it.

What does perfection have to do with it? :p

The only thing that can slow them down is if the US carriers start moaning about it, they don't have that problem with the UK phones (non-4G Sensation), so they're just being slow for the sake of it!

Good News.

One bad thing I just noticed that my news widget won't update anymore since the 8/7/11. No matter what I try.

Seems to be a common fault on all devices and something to do with the app rather than the phones. Other forums suggest that only a factory reset will solve this issue...

Unbranded yes! Updated to 1.35.401.1 now, what ever that means! hehe

Camera works from lockscreen now if using pin lock! :D

Picasa Web albums still don't work!

Well to make the most perfect phone in history even more perfect HTC will have to take some time and get it right. I mean we don't want this unlocked bootloader update leaving us with a phone that reminds us of the SGSII now do we? ;):p

HTC could release the bootloader for the UK market here and wait for the Moaning Yanks to decide if they want it or not. :D
