***The Official HTC Sensation thread***

I got my Sensation out today (as I needed a spare SIM with me, so I just took a phone instead :p) and it really is a lovely bit of kit.

Such a nice design and HTC Sense makes me not care about things like the screen viewing angles and relatively small camera differences. :o

Ordered my sensation last night from dialaphone, won't arrive until wed. This will be my first android phone, my n97 is dying from slow death atm.

I did want the samsung qs2 but the sensation had a better tariff deal.

Got my sensation delivered today, I must say its a fantastic phone, still getting used to android though. The web browsing is miles better than on the iPhone 4 I just replaced, I love how when browsing the forums the posts compress the words when zoomed in.

Anyhow can anyone recommend a good charging dock for this? I've been looking at the one in the link below, but if anyone has any better recommendations I'm all ears :)

I just got sensation, my first android phone. Much better then a iphone 4 which I dislike.

Never had a phone make me go "WOW" until now. Sense is so cool, I'm in love with me sensation. = )

Can anyone tell me how to get new emails to display as a "1" icon like when you miss a call or receive a text? At the minute when I get an email, I hear the notification go off but there is nothing to actually show me I have an email waiting to be read. Its a gmail account and nothing shows for either the default email app, or the gmail one, its quite annoying :(

Does anyone know where I can get answers to Exchange problems? Trying to setup my work email and it keeps telling me my username/password is incorrect even though it isn't...

Not impressed with the battery life on this at all  I did a full cycle charge last night now 8 and a bit hours later, the battery has dropped to 67% despite just sat being idle. According to the battery doctor app most of this is due to the WiFi being connected, surely it wouldn't use that much? My iPhone was always connected to WiFi but it barely touched the battery life, leaving it on idle overnight would drop the battery down to 97%, this is pathetic in comparison.

I hope I have a dodgy battery otherwise I might have to return the phone.

Edit - according to the battery information, the voltage is 3849mV, when I was charging it I noticed it was at around 1250mV. Something is wrong here in my opinion.

My iPhone I generally charged every other day but my Sensation is charged daily. I do wish they had included a larger battery but it's what it is.

I always try to remember I have a computer in my pocket, honestly, I'm not glad to see you, and not a phone.

Saying that, a lot of these custom ROMs, if not all, claim to improve battery life. I need to decide which one to install.

Did you put your domain name in front of your username? i.e. leave the domain name field blank and put domain\username in the username field. I found this was the only way to connect successfully to an Exchange account on my Desire.

I've just ordered the Anker 1900mAh battery off Amazon, gets great reviews and seems to improve battery life by 25-30%. For £8 its worth a go at least, still haven't tried rooting or custom ROMs which will no doubt help, but to be honest I was liking the stock HTC layout, just a shame there is so much bloatware.

Just tried that and it still gives me the same error :(

Quite annoying! Work mail works fine on my colleagues Galaxy S2 but it seems there are a lot of problems with exchange on Android. Dunno why it won't work on mine :/

Hmmmm. Never mind.

It seems removing /owa from the end of the mailbox address and setting my username to domain\user name has worked

Nice one :D

Seems to me that several custom ROMs give you the stock Sensation experience with a lot of enhancements under the bonnet.

Last night, I s-off, rooted and the rest of the other stuffs. I flashed my sensation with the android revolution hd 3.0.2, it seem to use less ram then the stock rom. I'm also using the go launcher ex.

Just installed, and patched to 3.0.2, Android Revolution.

Lat time I custom ROM'd a phone was last year on my Magic. This was a lot quicker process on the Sensation :)

My earlier rants regarding the battery life may have been a bit premature. It's been on the battery for 18 hours now and its only dropped to 30% which includes about an hour of internet and a few calls . I don't know what the hell happened last night to cause it to drop so much on idle
