***The Official HTC Sensation thread***

I wonder if the camera in it will be the upgraded unit found on the HTC Runnymede sporting 720p @ 60fps.

Don't care about anything else :p

Hi i am currently using the phone and its been a mnth now but all i have to say after experiencing it for a mnth is it is probably one of the best and powerful device amongst other htc phones. So far i have used htc wildfire and as compared to it the phone is lot better.:) Finally i m glad that htc learnt to cope with its deteriorating phone quality.

Prior to buying i have used a second hand sgs2 for almost 6 mnths but as it lacked better UI hence i decided to buy a new phone. Previously i have confronted several battery issues while using wildfire and thereafter swore not to buy htc phones  however looking at positive reviews regarding the phone i decided to give a try which have now really forced me to change my opinion on htc smartphones.

The Sense UI is awesome and I am loving it. :cool:The os version seems quite stable without any bugs and i wont risk the phone by upgrading to latest android os available as it could mess the stable state of the phone. Even the built in applications do not hog battery and are much stable however it they have tendency to malfunction if tried to upgrade the firmware.

Over all phone is good and i will admit here S2 and Sensation both are on the same levels to me.:)

My HTC Sensation has a "1900mAh" battery. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10062971/IMAG0187.jpg

As I've mentioned, light use I get 60 (sixty) hours.

The current CPU in the HTC Sensation can be overclocked to 1.8Ghz, but I keep mine at the stock 1.2Ghz, no reason to have any higher frequency it's not like th cpu is taxed anyway..

Also if you factor in the increased frequency of the cpu and any other little enhancements, that 1,730mAh won't be as much.

My understanding was the current Sensation has an under-clocked CPU anyway so the Special Edition runs the same CPU but at it's official 1.5Ghz speed.

Yep I've been using the 1900mAg battery in mine, the stock battery used to heat up every few days and discharge 20% of the battery in a very short period. Haven't noticed it with this one yet fingers crossed.

So you compared it directly against a HTC Wildfire (which is a terrible phone) and came to that conclusion? :p

I saw few 2300mAh batteries on ebay for £9, planning to get one for myself.

It will be rubbish, I wouldn't bother with anything other than an official battery, the 'new' Sensation battery may well fit in the current one I imagine, HTC should have them available for order when they launch the new phone.

It seems to be yet another silly and pointless Android phone release though, especially as it won't directly replace the Sensation.

I wonder if the rumours are true that the sensation was under clocked to 1.2ghz then. Does anyone know if they are two different chips or not?

I'm not saying its definitely a better battery as I haven't used it anywhere near long enough yet, but this Anker battery has been off charge for 6 hours 15 minutes and its only down to 98%. Used it for a couple of calls and a bit of web browsing so its not just been sitting idle.

I've been on the Anker battery for the last few weeks and it's definitely better than stock. I even went back to the stock battery at one point "just to check" and the length of time off charge reduced significantly. It easily gets another 3-4 hours of use, if not more.

For me, off the last charge running a custom rom and the Anker battery, I managed 2 days (6am Tuesday to 11pm Wednesday) and I still had 24% left when I plugged it in. That was with relatively light use over the two days but still included a couple of hours screen on time plus some calls. I can't imagine the stock battery ever lasting that long.

What rom are you running? Are you all on stock?

Yep all stock at the minute, WiFi connected all the time, emails sync every 10th minutes, no Bluetooth and brightness at around 40%. It's down to 96% but I've done some more browsing since my last post.
