***The Official HTC Sensation thread***

I've got a weird problem - around 6.30 every morning, I lose my wifi connection. If I restart, it comes back, if I wait an hour or two, it also comes back. I thought it might have been something I did in Juice Defender or Tasker so I disabled both of those and it still happens. It might be my ROM (Bulletproof) but I doubt it since it seems to be time specific. Is there any way I can find out what is causing this to happen?

I've stuck ArHD on my Sensation to try it out and it looks very good so far.

You should probably try that Fox, it's pretty simple and it's basically the stock ROM with some speed fixes applied and Beats Audio boot screen.

Quite a lot faster/smoother overall. Going to use it for a few days and see how the battery fares.

HTC knows how excited our fans are to get their hands on Google's latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich, so we're thrilled today to announce the first wave of HTC phones that will receive upgrades: We can confirm the brand new HTC Vivid is upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich. In addition, Ice Cream Sandwich is coming in early 2012 to a variety of devices including the HTC Sensation, HTC Sensation XL and HTC Sensation XE, as well as the HTC Rezound, HTC EVO 3D, HTC EVO Design 4G and HTC Amaze 4G through close integration with our carrier partners. We're continuing to assess our product portfolio, so stay tuned for more updates on device upgrades, timing and other details about HTC and Ice Cream Sandwich.

Looks like most makers will out their ICS updates around the same time then. Roll on Feb 2012.

We'll get it before then, source code will likely be released when the new Nexus is out (17th Nov I think) then it'll be a made rush for someone to port it to other various phones.

You can generally expect a mostly working release within a few days of the source dropping. Even if you want to wait for something from HTC, dev builds generally get leaked so expect something from that atleast a few months before the official version.

My Anker battery arrived today, I'm a little concerned that it's a fake as it hasn't arrived it the same packaging as others I've seen, it's just the battery in a shrink wrap. I haven't opened it yet as I'm about to leave for work, I was going to put it in my phone later and give it a full charge over night.

Doubt it's a fake. If I was going to copy a battery i'd copy the HTC one, not an Anker.

I'm very happy with the Android Revolution HD rom so far. I'm a bit miffed with the poor battery life I'm getting. I turn the wireless feature off as I don't connect to work's network. Is there another ROM that's a bit better battery usage wise? Or should I try that addon for AR HD that drops the CPU speed down a bit? :)

I'm running Android Revolution HD on mine as well, with the Bricked kernel.

I had some problems with the phone being awake 100% of the time but I sorted those out (it's worth checking for).

The battery seems fairly good so far but I'm going to give it a few days before I decide.

The phone is certainly smoother but it's still not up the Galaxy S II standard of general speed and responsiveness.

I'm finding battery life pretty atrocious if I'm honest, it seems worse than my old iPhone 3GS. I have installed Juice Defender and it has helped, but only a bit. It'll be interesting to see how that Anker battery holds up tomorrow.

Being awake 100% of the time? How do I check for that?

Settings > About phone > Battery > Up time & Awake time

Awake time should not be the same as up time, it should be significantly lower.

Woah, that's why my phone has been eating it's battery then, it's always awake

How do I sort it out? :/

It wasn't just me with that problem then!

I'm not entirely sure how I fixed it, but this is what I did -
  1. Went into recovery

  2. Ran the Android Revolution HD wipe script

  3. Then flashed the Android Revolution HD ROM

  4. Flashed the HTC Sense Bricked kernel

  5. Turned the phone off

  6. Charged the phone to full (keep the phone off for this)

  7. Go into recovery, wipe battery stats

Turn it on, and it should be fixed. I think anyway :p

Obviously you need to keep pulling the battery to get into recovery (or disable fast boot).

You could flash the new radio as well, it's in the ArHD thread.

Those are pretty much the exact steps I took when I first installed ArHD with the exception of flashing the bricked kernel. I don't want to go through the hassle of wiping and reinstalling if it won't fix the problem :(
