I can't be bothered and I dont want to void my warranty.

Unless its so super easy I'm mad for not doing so?

It seems daunting at first, but it is pretty damn easy :)

I wouldn't worry about warranty issues, it's easy enough to restore back to stock AFAIK.

It's definitely worth doing though, the GPU acceleration makes the phone so much more pleasant to use.

I loaded ArHD 4.1.7 yesterday to try it out as a lot of people on here seem to be using it. I came from Romanbb's Bulletproof and wanted to try it to see how it compared.

The first thing I noticed is theres no noticable speed increase and they both seem as well optimised and stable without the bloat like I found with LeeDroids rom. Battery life is slightly worse on ArHD but that may well be the phone settling down and me using it a little more.
Bulletproof does have loads of customisable tweaks though where ArHD is like using a stock rom you can do nothing with. The main bits I miss are the ability to boot into recovery or hboot straight from the shutdown menu, transparent app drawer is a nice touch. Also Bulletproof has a quick quicklaunch option where if there are no notifications the when you pull the screen down it goes straight to quicklaunch. You can also select what options you want displayed in the quicklaunch, i regularly turn off my wifi from in there where as in ArHD I have to right into the settings menu. Little things also dont seem to work properly with ArHD like selecting a wall paper from the gallery it gives me a square box to crop the photo when the screen isnt square. I'm going to give it another 24 hrs to see if it grows on me but at the moment I will be switching back to Bulletproof, i miss the tweaks to much and seem to have gained nothing by loosing them.

You guys should do a nandroid backup and try it out. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1214023

Why do you need GPU acceleration there is no good games apart from pocket Minecraft.

I have the screenshot bug on ArHD rom.

I have the screenshot bug on ArHD rom.

It makes the UI and general operation of the phone smoother.

However, I don't think it's proper UI acceleration still, it isn't perfectly smooth like the Galaxy S II. It's a small improvement though.

^^

Try the Bricked kernel, I find it much better, the battery life is great with this.

Also got the phone running at 1.78ghz.

Just loaded it so will give it a go. The phone seems to be running hotter now though when in use.

Does Bulletproof have GPU acceleration? That's the main draw of ArHD for me.

I don't know to be honest but once the phones have settled after initial boot they both seem as smooth to me.

Nothing to do with games, it's UI acceleration I'm talking about. The GPU acceleration makes the UI much smoother :)

I've never had the screenshot bug, it only works when I have wanted to take one. I was only on a stock Rom for a couple of days though.
