***The Official HTC Sensation thread***

Settings > About phone > Battery > Up time & Awake time

Awake time should not be the same as up time, it should be significantly lower.
Oh drat. They are both exactly the same. :(

I've just done the wipe battery stats and the two times are still the same. :(

New ArHD build as well. 3.6.5

Seems the new build fixes the battery drain issue then. I might just install the bricked kernel and see if it fixes it, really CBA with wiping and restoring everything again.

Installed bricked kernel, and it has solved my 100% awake issue. I've also charged my 1900mah Anker battery, so lets see how it fares today :)

That's good news DreXeL, I'm glad it worked for you!

It seems to be an issue with the Faux kernel that the Android Rev HD ROM comes with.

On the Revolution ROM, does anyone have issues with Facebook contacts not syncing? (Contact pics) Also, Whatsapp doesn't seem to hook in to the contacts properly. :(

Ah crumbs, have the 100% wake issue with the HD Rom too... Just going to try the bricked kernel... wondered why my battery life was so atrocious! Thanks for pointing it out :)

Well, my battery is at 25% after 20 hours of fairly light-moderate use.

This means that regardless of new ROMs, kernels and so on, it's still quite a way behind the Galaxy S II and a long way behind the iPhone 4 when it comes to the battery.

Still a great phone though, I do like them. I'm not one of these people that holds the opinion of "the SGS2 obliterates it, lulz", because quite simply - it doesn't.

No, not obliterate. Just better.

So, I've flashed the bricked kernel, has that fixed the battery drain for most others?

**EDIT** Okay, cool. The above post that appeared when mine did, answers my question pretty much :) Thanks.

Haha, we must have posted seconds apart. I've seen the numbers and they are now not synchronised.

I agree, but many people really went over the top when it came to slating the Sensation.

IMO the Sensation is the better phone over the GS2

The higher resolution screen is such a huge positive, I'd take this over viewing the display at different angles ( why would you need to with a phone anyways ?? ) and richer colours ( not as accurate mind )

The case/build quality is better too.

What does the GS2 have over it nowadays? GPU accelerated menus are also with the Sensation now.

A Smidge more ram? neh QHD please. 800x480 is so Desire.

I think the general feel of the Sensation is better, but the build quality certainly is not.

Not too fussed about the screen, the only thing I really like about AMOLED are the blacks.

What does the GS2 have over it? Well...

Battery life is better
Camera is better
HD Video is better
Internals are considerably faster
General speed of the phone is faster
Loudspeaker is MUCH louder

The rest is up for debate, I like Sense UI a lot more than TouchWiz and I like the design/feel of the Sensation more than the Galaxy S II, though I have nothing against the Galaxy S II design.
