I've noticed serious battery drain on my 15PM since upgrading.

I charge to 80% and in a typical day I wouldn't expect it to drop below 50% before bedtime. Last night it was 36% when I put it back on charge. it's currently at 56% already this afternoon.

I know iOS does a lot of indexing after an update which can drain the battery for a day or two afterwards. I hope this doesn't become the new normal.

Anyone noticed that photos often look weird right after taking a dot and looking at the gallery? Seems to zoom it out and it’s stuck in that state. Close the app and reopen and it renders fine.

I’ve got screen rotation sticking when I watch videos with Infuse on my m2 iPad Air. Seems to be random.

I’m noticing similar. I’m getting below 30% when going to bed, normally above 50%.

I quite like the idea of not paying for a password manager (I have the family sub for Dashlane) but don’t fancy

1. Adding the 500+ passwords I have from Dashlane into the Apple password app
2. Losing the ability to have a browser extension for passwords on a Windows PC.

Bitwarden is free or the premium version is only $10 a year. I can highly recommend it.

'Hide distracting items' in safari doesn't always show as an option on every site anymore like it did when iOS18 went live the other day. As an example, the option was there for this forum and now it's not.

Anyone else noticed this and know why it differs from site to site? I thought it was an iOS 18 Safari feature regardless of site visited.

Nice to see Apple making zero fixes to the disaster that is Shared Albums. Still works poorly in 2024 and I've now got friends complaining about it Absolute trash compared to G.Photos which takes less than 5mins to knock out an album.

iCloud Shared Albums feature is bad

I am an iCloud Photos user and I find the Shared Albums feature frustrating. I write about the poor choices and limitations that Apple has made with this feature. Creating shared albums is an essential part of photo-sharing in 2023, and Apple needs to take this seriously and fix it.

I still can't see an option to show only those photos I've taken on my phone rather than those that are imported into the library from WhatsApp or Messages etc. It would be nice for them to include this as a filter.

After watching that video I was intrigued by creating a memory by just typing keywords in but I have no option for that it just displays the already curated memories? Am I missing something?

I think that's an AI thing so it won't appear until 18.1 is released.

Would have loved it if it would auto calculate the second sum. Was pleasantly surprised when I hit = and it auto done it.

I’ve installed the 18.1 beta on my iPhone 16, changes to Simplified English and have Apple Intelligence supposedly running. Aaaaand… can’t see much going on! I’ve not had a chance to play about so are there any pointers out there as to what can be done with AI or what I should expect?

Obvious changes will be notification and email summaries, back to back Siri requests, writing tools, suggested replies in messages.

Obviously you need a 15 pro or 16 series phone too.

You also need to have gone into Apple intelligence and joined the waitlist too.

All good with the prerequisites. Joined the waitlist and was confirmed to go ahead within two minutes

Really need help

Now i updated to ISO 18 i can't get the latest photo's i taken from my Iphone onto my PC due to it now not telling me when the photo's have been synced to icloud
(When you connect an Iphone to a PC over USB the photo's no show up for till they have been synced to icloud)

If there no fix this or a way to see this very soon am going need to buy a new mobile phone of a different brand as i use my phone for photo's for work use all the time

@chaparral if you click on your profile pic in the top right of the photos app, the iCloud sync status is in there.
