Has anyone got recommendations on a screen protector and case?
Do the full coverage protectors cause issues with the sensors on the notch? Should I be looking for one where the notch part is cut out?

Thanks.
Don’t bother with a screen protector. Horrible things.

I use a skin from xtreme and it’s prefect for me. If I was to get a case I’d be looking at one from Apple or a similar knock off version on Amazon/eBay.

I really liked how easy the Spigen Ez fit was to apply, but I did find that it impacted the touch sensitivity at least on my mini. Even though they mention that in the latest iOS update it fixes the issue, I didn't find that to be completely fixed. I'm running a with no screen protector now.

I'm not usually a screen protector person and couldn't tell you the last time I actually bought one until I got the iPhone 12. It being my first iPhone and hearing the stories that although the ceramic shield is stronger but more scratch prone I thought I'd try one.
I got these and they have been superb. Full coverage and have not affected the sensors at all.

With regards to a case it's hard to beat the Apple Silicone/Leather ones although they are silly expensive. I have a few Ringke cases (I've used them before on other phones) and they have always been excellent. They do a clear case with a Matte back which is my particular favourite at the moment, it gives my 12 that frosted look which is pretty cool. Also Spigen are usually a go to.

They aren't without their issues. I just returned an official silicone case because of a few issues. It felt uncomfortable in the hand due to the smooth texture, if you held it wrong or with not enough grip, it will slowly slide out of your hand. It would also pull every single bit of lint of our your pocket. Lighter colours also start to discolour as well. All these little issues and you paid top dollar for the privilege.

The leather is nice, but it does discolour around the edges very quickly and can look terrible depending on the colour. Also it's a dead animal skin, no thanks jeff.

The Spigen Liquid Air I have just replaced the Apple Silicone with is very very good. Love it.

I'm so glad you flagged this up. I've had the Spigen case on my S10 since I've had it and it's been amazing. I've just cancelled the Apple Silicone case and picked up the Spigen one from Amazon for a tenner.

Back in the day I would constantly upgrade but after deciding to hang onto my XR it developed a couple of issues...

Call Speaker extremely quiet despite cleaning it the same way Apple have previously due to it being clogged and then also randomly turning off and crashing so now feel that it will let me down.

I decided to order an iPhone 12 but have noticed a considerable yellow tint to the screen compared to my XR despite the settings, even with True Tone turned off it’s still very yellow compared.

I took a comparison with my XR... Should I be looking at getting a replacement or is this normal?

iPhone 12 Left iPhone XR Right

I've held off on getting an iPhone 12 as frankly my XS does everything that I need, but work have ordered me a phone of my choice so have opted for a 12 Mini, can't wait to see what it's like, I'm usually all about bigger phones but the size doesn't interest me anymore, I want something that I can use easily one handed.

That’s a tricky one to assess. The devices have 2 different screen techs (IPS on the XR and OLED on the 12) so that will definitely make a difference.
Secondly white balance is a very difficult thing to compare outside of a lab - even two devices with the same screen tech might not exhibit identical WB. It is something that needs to be seen in isolation. Finally trying to photograph it will make it seem much worse than it is.

All that being said I’m not going to argue that there is nothing wrong with your phone, there could well be. What I will say is I don’t notice mine to have a yellow tint but then again I have no other iPhones to compare it to.

This has been a thing since the iPhone 4.
Some phones are blue tinted, others yellow, it’s just the way it is when you have multiple suppliers of the same component.

Apple won’t exchange the phone for this - if it bothers you the best bet is to go to the original place of purchase

One iPhone I had was tinted slightly yellow from brand new, it settled down after a while. I remember reading reports that said it was down to how long it took the adhesive to fully cure. I have no idea how true that was.

I've recently upgraded from the 12 mini to the 12 pro max and I think the 12 mini had this issue as well, it's a bit of a small problem but I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed it

I have a volume issue with the keyboard sounds when I type. Sometimes the typing sound is a normal volume, other times it's quiet, other times it gets louder the more I type... All other sounds on my phone appear to be fine when I play music/videos etc

Has anyone else noticed this

Yip my 12 Mini does this aswell also the notifications are to quiet as well, it's a bug that been going on since iOS 14 launched that Apple doesn't seem to bothered to fix.
I think all the 12 series phone's suffer this bug.

Yep I have it on my 12 as well as my iPad Air 2020. It also occasionally affects the lock sound.

I always have keyboard clicks turned off (I swear it makes it slower/harder to type), but I was setting up my new M1 iPad Pro and it was doing the same thing (louder then softer then louder etc) so I reckon it’s just an iOS bug, not specific to the hardware model.
