Crikey! Thats a grand more than my S10+ cost![]()
Apple charge a flat rate of £200 per 256Gb of storage. That's how they're a $2tn company.

It's not like a comparable Samsung is much cheaper (if at all).
The poster was talking about his 300Gb collection of stuff and I pointed out that Apple charge £200 per 256Gb of storage, so they're going to take his eyes out if he wants 1Tb. Samsung charge £100 per 256gb, which is still excessive, but not laughably terrible.
Fancy switching from Samsung. Seen a 12 pro max 512gb for £1100, or hang on?The poster was talking about his 300Gb collection of stuff and I pointed out that Apple charge £200 per 256Gb of storage, so they're going to take his eyes out if he wants 1Tb. Ok thanks chaps, will do.Definitely, definitely wait.
Think youre overrating FaceID a bit here. The angles and distance are a big issue for me with face ID and only works when its right in front of your face. For example when i keep my phone on the desk and just want to peak at it, touchID is much better suited.
You're right in the sense that when its right in front of your face it rarely ever messes up, unless you happen to be slightly looking away or use it the dark perhaps (ive used it in bed sometimes and it doesnt register)
it does if you have an Apple Watch. Do you have an Apple Watch?Mine doesn't work with a mask on.
I
it does if you have an Apple Watch. Do you have an Apple Watch?
Apart from using it to unlock your phoneI have no use for a watch never had done.
Is there any news on FaceID? I've ranted about it in the past and it's still as poor as ever given 2 years of wearing mask, and even when not, the fact that you still on occasion have to enter your unlock code manually.
I found on Android that I had to occasionally enter my Pin despite having fingerprint and face registered so this is nothing specific to the iPhone.I doubt it’s going anywhere. I’ve found it to be much more reliable than TouchID.
I'm not overrating it at all, just describing how I find it. When my phone is on my desk, it's on a charging cradle so it's facing me. I look at it, reach out, tap and swipe up and it's open. Every time, every single time.
It's not supposed to work if you're looking away.
It works in the utter pitch dark. I've picked my phone up in bed in the middle of the night in a room with blackout curtains and it works. Again, every time. If it doesn't work when you're in bed then there's a very good chance that you're holding it too close to your face - I speak from experience here, when I first got a phone with FaceID, I'd pick up my phone in bed and try and use FaceID but it'd fail. I figured out pretty quickly that's because I was holding it too close. Just move it a fraction further away so it can actually scan all your face and it works.
I could accept both (although would still much prefer FaceID) provided it was a capacitive fingerprint scanner built into the power button like the iPad Air 4.Either way I do think you need both for the most ideal scenario and can be used in every use without issue
And then pigs will fly!How about a turn for the books - what if Apple released two models - top of the range, and a more 'budget' entry level system to the iOS ecosystem(that had an interchangeable battery, and cheaper than the current S models).
I'm running an XR, whats your battery efficiency at the moment and how long have you had it?Hoping the iPhone 13 announcement isn't too far into Septemberstill running my XS and want to know if I'll be getting a 13 or just paying for a battery replacement on this and hope the iPhone 14 offers more features.
