This I don't understand.
To me, the space above the cutout is useless so surely this method actually consumes MORE screen real estate than the notch? It's hard to tell from renders I admit but at best it's going to be the same.
100% this. Makes absolutely no sense other than for them to be able to say "well we don't have a notch any more".
I'd they had just shifted the module north by 5mm or so then great but now you have some utterly pointless pixels above the new "notch"? Idiocy.

Just thinking ahead a little here, is there a go-to screen protector for the iPhone? I've used a Whitestone Dome on my Note 10 for 3 years and it's been really good. Just curious as to whether there's a good alternative for the iPhone, or indeed any thoughts from people that run a bare screen.
Naked.

Yep, always naked on the screen. I'll stick a case on it - usually Apple's silicone case until it starts flaking, then look at something else, but obviously that's just body protection :D

Fair, sounds like naked is the way to go. Not been without a screen protector for many many years, it was always something I applied on day 1 the moment it came out the box. Appreciate the feedback.

We buy any phone are offering me £248 for my iPhone 11 64GB. I think that sounds like a very decent price, would you agree?

Saves any risk of eBay‘ing it

Sounds decent that does, should be very hassle free compared to the risks of ebay.

They offer £190 for my Note 10+ in good condition, but annoyingly my screen has a black spot on the edge which takes it down to average at £120.

Great! Thanks. I might gamble and hold on until I can order the 14 and hope the price holds

Even though I much prefer lightning over usb c, i won’t upgrade my 11 until they iPhone has usb c. I’m sick of the number of charging Options I have.

Also my 11 just hasn’t had any issues with anything I want it to do and it’s 3 years old! The longest I’ve owned any iPhone.

It’s a non-issue for me since I wireless charge.
