I am wondering if you guys can help. So I started my iphone journey on the 11 pro max and 13 pro max. Never owned an iphone before that. Loved the battery on the 11 pro max and 13 pro max. But on my 14 pro max it seems like that battery life is nowhere near as good as those phones. On the both the 11 and 13 I use to charge it once 2-3 days on my usuage but on this I find I nearly have to charge it everyday. I could stretch it to the next day but it would either run out or be very very low. My usecase hasn;t change and I seem to be using it the same. I use the same settings as the 11 and 13.
Could it be the screen brightness. Is set higher on the 14..
Now it brighter outside my 14 pro max is auto going to the full screen brightness setting

So ... the lovely Mrs Clanger has just presented me with an iPhone 14 Pro. :D Given that my current phone is a 2020 SE this is quite the upgrade. Whilst I absolutely love the phone, I'm really worried about those 3 bloody great lenses sticking out of the back! I've got a case straight away with a nice lip to protect the camera bump and my phone only ever goes in a pocket which never has keys/coins/rubbish or a jacket pocket. But - they're still going to collect dust & fingerprints. What would you guys recommend as the best way to clean the camera lenses? I'm assuming disposable lens tissue with a tiny spray of distilled water to moisten - would that be correct?

Lens cloth, micro fibre, the ones for glasses is fine.

I have a case that has a cover By Spidegen and Tech21 makes one too.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I've had a look at both the Spigen and the Tech21 cases. Based on online reviews (but how trustworthy are they?) the Tech21 looks better but bulkier. How do you find your case? I'd be worried that sliding something backwards and forwards across the lens array runs the risk of scratching - but there must be sufficient clearance of course.

I'm surprised that there's so few models which cover the lenses - I would have thought an easy solution would be a lens cap type cover which clicked into place over the lip on the back of the case - but no one seems to make one like that.

I only have the Spidgen, didn't know about the Tech 21 until later.

Note that the Spidgen case, when use on a regular Pro (Not the Max), the door opens and have a overhang due to the width of the phone not being as wide. The Tech 21 has a 2 level slider which means it doesn't over hang but it also have that clip thing on the back which i don't really need or want. I prefer the look of the Spidgen personally. It's also Magsafe compatible, there is a raised edge on the front, even with a screen protector on, so the screen won't touch a surface when laid facing down.

There is plenty of clearance to the lens, I'd say plenty but it's over 1mm, a smidgen over a mm perhaps.

Castify does a clear cover on top, you will need to use it with their cases for it to fit properly.

Thanks for the suggestion - just looked at that one - but it looks like a permanent addition. Whereas I was thinking of a case where the lip surrounting the camera has a clip and a square lens cap (for want of a better description) would clip over it - as you would have with a normal camera lens.

The clip on the Tech21 is detachable I think - looks like it's a holster affair as fixed to the case - but the double layer door will add to the bulk. Decisions decision....will need to go and mull it over. I suppose the other question is - if I'm careful in how I carry it - how essential is a camera cover?

Thank you once again for your help with this :)

If you scroll a few pages back on this thread, I've posted photos of mine.

Let's just say with a screen protector and a case covering the camera...whilst I am already careful out of habit, I am also don't worry about it anymore.

Re camera, there will still be dusts with the cover on, but because of the cover, there is never any smudges. So just a quick blow will get rid of most of the dusts and they don't show up on the photos anyway. It's the smudges usually that makes it like a potato.

Because it's a non issue. They're sapphire so you're not going to scratch them and if you're really bothered, a quick wipe over is all you need.

Camera lenses on mine are still perfect, and my phone stays in my top pocket all day long in an engineering workshop. I often have to blow the swarf off as around the cameras is slightly magnetic. Use it a lot for taking pictures of various work projects. I was a little worried about them at first but it doesn't seem to be an issue at all. At worst they get greasy from fingers and gets a wipe on my clothing.
