I stupidly sold my Galaxy Nexus a few days ago and I missed out on one of the Nexus 4's. When the Nexus 4 goes up on Google Play again, there will be a high demand again and no doubt will sell out. So we could be looking at months before I manage to get my hands on one at the original price.

...This is why I'm contemplating Carphone Warehouse's prices but only the 16gb.

I hate not having a phone.

It's £80 more to make you happy - it's hardly going to break the bank unless you've hit rock bottom and are living off Tesco Value beans.

Traded my GNex. Rocking an old Moto Defy with CM10 for now.
Final check of the play store at about 8:10 before leaving for work.
Refreshed browser at the traffic lights only to find it in stock!
Pulled over and tried for 30 minutes to order during which time the website was playing silly buggers. Finally managed to get an order through for the 16GB version! Then I got another order confirmation so I had two!
Tried to cancel one using the web links provided and it said I couldn't.
Phoned google to explain and they passed me to the wallet team who said that they couldn't cancel either and I should just refuse delivery.
Then this morning I get an email saying my order has been delayed by 24hrs as they notice I have ordered two devices and I should cancel one if I need to!!!
Called google again and they did manage this time to cancel one but this service really is a joke!
And now I find the Nexus4 is not yet a supported device in AOSP. Nuts!

My guess is people who have 'pre-ordered' status like you greeny_fastcar would be allocated one that some one will cancel because of the unwanted / duplicate order screw up.
 
I haven't been following this thread for the past few days because it's ballooned in size.

I checked yesterday and again today, out of stock.

Are they updating stock every day at 8 and I need to check then or am I missing something?

Surely they have business purchasing channels so I can avoid all this stupidity but I can't find a phone number to call?
