***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Interested in anyone who has used the Nexus 4 as well as either S3 or Note 2 and their views?

I am still pending for my Nexus 4 order and tempted to cancel and go for either an S3 or Note 2.

I have looked at 2 year costs.

The nexus 4 is £289 plus I was going for GiffGaff £10 per month (250 mins/1Gb)
Total £529.

With Tmobile, via mobile phones direct

S3 is either £29 plus £21 per month (100 mins / 750mb) total £533
or £23 per month plus £72 (300mins/750mb) total £624

or vodafone, 21 per month plus £149 (600 mins/500mb) .

Note 2

T mobile, £21 per month plus £89 (100mins/750mb) total £593
also do either 300 mins/750mb or 100 mins/1500mb for 24x26 plus 89 =£673

So for my needs, Nexus 4= £529, S3=£533 or Note 2 = £593

Money not too much in it.

My use;-

1) internet browsing
2) email
3) personal organising / diary / astrid etc
4) sky news / bbc news / iplayer /maybe skygo in future
5) music
6) camera

Won't do much in way of games.

Also, wont play around with settings too much.

Views?

tough one, if you could get a n4 like now then that remains the best option IMO, im not a massive fan off the samsung software, but that may or may not bother you. also not a great lover of the S3, but the Note2 is fine bit of kit. if i was you i would wait another week and see if that "pending" status changes. or possibly call google?

How do you get the Note2 for that?
Sorry I know it's an N4 thread but this is a comparison of costs.

tried email and call, no news, nor explanation as to why my confirmation at 1706, so one of very early ones, gave delivery of 5-6 weeks, and later ones delivered.

To everyone waiting for an order, I just spoke to Google and they said that they are going to put the money on hold again in 4 hours time, and that I should get a shipping email in the next 24hours or at max by the end of the week. I have an 8GB ordered with estimated shipping time of 3-5 days.

Don't forget that you aren't locked in to a contract with the Nexus so you can sell it andmmove on whenever you want.

Oh where oh where could my, Nexus be?
It's still missing from under my christmas tree...
I'll hang in there till mid January
At which point i'll opt for the Galaxy S3

I was quoted 1-2 weeks despite ordering asap from them going online on the 4th, mine went through at 5:06. So i will not hang in there until january, they have another week before i just cancel my order and am sure a lot of other people feel the same.

Wouldnt mind if people with 4-5 week delivery estimates didnt get their phones within two days of us all ordering whilst those with only a 3-5 day estimate still dont have their phones.

Just got off the phone to Google. The guy admitted there was a problem and that he was "scared to look at the forums" because of the number of people affected. He said they were all out of stock and that they were waiting on a delivery from the manufacturer but when it arrived my phone would be one of those. Couldn't give an ETA and could only say it "might" be before Christmas.
He also said to ring back once the phone was delivered as it was likely they would be able to give a refund on the delivery charge (bl**dy well hope so!)

Would be nice for google to get some bad press out of this shipping debacle, until they do then why would they ever bother fixing it. Had problems with n7 launch but didnt sort it out ready for nexus4, wonder if the big sites are all just a bit too scared to **** google off.

Fact that deliveries have been done in the wrong order is worthy of a big fat black mark.

This is what annoys me, everyone is being given different answers. Some people are being told their order will be completed by the weekend, others that they are now on back order and it will probably be February, and in your case that they have no stock and simply don't know when they will.

At least the person you've spoken to seems to have been honest, even if they don't really have a clue what is happening, but I wish they would just come out with something consistent.

Hey djwhisky whats your estimated delivery time? Also did you order 8 or 16gb? Thanks :) Just wondering as I rang Google earlier and they said this to me:

I hope they get more stock this week and next and start posting them out.

I must admit even though mine said 5-6 weeks, I was hoping it would ship this year, just because I wanted something to mess around with whilst on Christmas break.

Before when I wasn't in the pre-order queue I was tempted to just pay extra and go to CPW. Now I am so close (in the sense I am in a queue) I can't justify paying etc.
