***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

do accessories, like cases for the phone not get released untill the day ? i can not really find anything, wanted to get a shopping list ready :D

They did market the Galaxy Nexus quite a bit, I remember quite a few adverts for it.

yeah well hurricane sandy caused that event to be cancelled,

they need the phone out before 22nd of November, as in the USA that is 'thanksgiving day' and although not quite as good as xmas in sales terms generates a lot.

the job i applied for @ google is for a nexus market manger... i would love a shot :D

I think it's the reverse actually. I think this is Android's flagship. This is the phone that Google thinks best represents the Android experience in 2012 (and looking forwards) Samsung and the like may have their own flagships but it's very much a Samsung flagship rather than an Andoid flagship, they tinker with things and add their own features to make it a Samsung product.

Update: Your will for me crazy explain (and rightly so), but I have just received the news that the Nexus devices (N4, N7 and N10) now but tomorrow morning (for breakfast) will be available through Google Play!

I hope that you consider this as good news.

Sorry for the back-and-forth - but I'll keep you updated in near real-time updates ...

That's from a German google employee, so around 8AM in the UK I imagine.

I think we need to make the distinction between "android phone" (Nexus) and "android-powered phone" (Galaxy S3). This is certainly a flagship for Android itself because it will be used to develop and test new features before they go to other manufacturers. Whether it's a flagship for Android as a broader entity is another question - given the lack of promotion for this device and relatively low consumer mindshare I'd be inclinded to say no. That title is better suited to the Galaxy S3.

Have to choose soon. 8GB or 16GB? :o

16GB of course!

Think I'm all prepared, I'll be at work early tomorrow so I've added a bookmark of the Nexus 4 page on the Play Store to my phone, added my credit card to Google Wallet, signed in and visited the pages a few times to ensure they're cached. Hopefully that'll help the fact that O2's 3G where I work is appalling!
