***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

I'll be sticking with my SGS2 as well....

Until reviews by OCUKers convince me that the audio & camera quality is good on the N4 :D

(It would be useful if it makes phone calls as well.........)

Can I just grab some quick opinions, as somebody who has never used an android device.

I may be getting confused but reading over the last few pages there seems to be some suggestion that vanilla is for your more advanced user as it doesn't have some of the extras that make things easier, is this right or am I getting it wrong. Is Vanilla fine for the average person?

I only ask as my niece is looking to get a new phone and I suggested this as one to consider as its in her price range, but I wouldn't want to recommend something that won't be easy to use. Obviously I said wait until its out and there is some user feedback, but wanted to make sure its not a terrible suggestion.

android is built to be used as it is. None of the extra skins are necessary. Samsung, HTC and others only do it to differentiate themselves.

Think of it as similar to how laptops and PCs come with lots of extra stuff installed which you may or may not use. They might not even be very good applications.

Since Android 4.0, it has been designed to be very user friendly.

Any recent version of Android is fine. It was only when 2.2 / 2.3 was mainstream that customisations such as Touchwiz and Sense UI were extremely beneficial.

However, since ICS - November last year, Android has become awesome in any variety, just pick and choose whichever you like the look of best.

Soon, soo close I can smell it. Being without a phone is weird so with that in mind....

Dear Internet,

Please don't order a Nexus 4 before me.

I am really rooting for LG and google with this. Please please please have no design mistakes and be ultra reliable.

I think you'd be crazy not to get the 16GB version, you're already spending £240 so what's another £40 when you're keeping this phone for a year, potentially two?
