***The Official Manly Shaving Thread***

I can't seem to be able to shave around my mouth and nose without cutting myself. :(

I try and be as gentle as possible, only using the weight of the razor. Anyone have any tips for shaving this area?

I also get razor burns near my throat.

This is after a year of using DE razors.

I wet my face, use pre shave oil and get a good lather with the shaving cream, so I am not sure what else to do?

Still my regular daily blade. I bought 100 of these back in January 2013 and have got three or four of them left in the box. I also bought an extra 200 over the next couple of months whenever I placed an order with Connaught so I've got plenty of spares.

I consider thirty quid for well over three years of blades to be outstanding value for money. Those three boxes worked out at around ninety quid but that's over ten years worth of blades.

Yep, sure it was you that recommended them years back. I'd tried loads, including feathers, and these were just spot on. I can't even remember when I bought the 100 pack, possibly two years ago?

You're right I'm just being tight :p

I know this is for manly shaving..

But could any of you get recommend a nose hair trimmer please?

Never used to have a problem (or pulled the odd one out) but now I'm 35 and I need some mechanical help.

Cost isn't a huge issue, easy to use and something that will last if possible.

Thanks.

This is my second trimmer, it's the best out of the two, plus it's the best seller on Amazon

Anyone tried the new Bulldog shave cream? seemed pretty good for a brush-less

I've been using their face wash and moisturiser for quite awhile,my skin seems to like it a lot as some stuff like the garnier crud i'm really sensitive to. Didn't realise they did shave cream and stuff aswell as my local morrisons only stocks a small selection of their stuff, will have to take a trip to boots i think.

I got a D89 and had my first go with it last night .....

It went ok, few nicks , I suppose it will become less bloody with practice (I hope)

Was what sprung into my mind when looking in the mirror

Any one tried the Duke Cannon stuff before?

Also I know this will be blasphemous to you guys but any one tried the King of Shaves Hyperglide

I need an upgrade from my Gillette, but I don't get on with the Merkur's of this world.

Also I imagine the Duke Cannon shaving cream will work just fine with a normal wet shaver? (Such as the KOS Hydroglide?

I still have not found a solution to my issue of only being able to shave once a week. Any more and your talking irritation, cuts, spots etc...

Edit how about the Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor with Flexball?

Bit of a random tip.. A pretty noob mistake but it never crossed my mind until I did it.
Turn the tap off! I never bothered filling the sink with hot water and instead rinsed my razor under the tap as i shaved. The first time I turned the tap of the silence made shaving so much easier! Seems an obvious thing once I realised but no guides even mentioned it.

Not too sure how it makes shaving easier when the tap is turned off?!?!

I always just use a sink full of hot water so never shave with the tap running anyway, may just try it just to see if it's a worse shave.

I can't fathom how you can't shave without being in silence. I keep the tap running rather than fill the sink. It has never distracted me before.

Personally, I fill the sink because I like the sound the razor makes :)

Also, it helps me find the spots I misses during the second and third passes.

Up to level 2 now with my Merkur Futur and Feather blades without cutting myself :)
