That's because it's being made by Rockstar.

The original 2 were made by Remedy.

But number 3 is a direct follow on of number 2.
 
First 15 mins or so of gameplay (360 version). Looking forward to PC release, I'm pleased they've retained the original music, you can't beat that classic Max Payne cello riff.:p

 
Actually, the first 15 mins of that look surprisingly good. I wasn't a fan of the idea of changing the setting etc, but the gameplay looks solid and the voice acting and writing seem like classic Max, even if it's not Sam Lake at the helm. I'm not convinced enough to buy at release prices, but it's one I'll keep my eye on.
 
I'm buying it, looking forward to it. Just seems a real shame pc gamers are being made to wait longer.
 
Complete lack of noir-comic style story telling the original had and the graphics are poor because of the usual console porting.
But, i think i will have a bucket load of fun playing it.
