*** THE OFFICIAL MAX PAYNE 3 THREAD ***

The graphics are insanely good. The slums level is exceptional looking. I think they've done a great job with this, massively entertaining and technically awesome on the pc.

This game is FAR better than i was expecting, It look absolutely great as well! I also like the fact it gives you an estimated memory usage when setting the graphics up.

I think i know excactly what drunken master is getting at.

No you don't, 'cos you haven't played it!

Tbh i was afraid of everything he said coming true when i heard rockstar were doing it and not remedy which is why i held of buying the game.
I shall wait till i see it very cheaply.

Drunkenmaster slates just about everything! (grumpy old man syndrome if you ask me:p) and why would you take one negative opinion as gospel over an otherwise unanimously positive one?

Was not sure on this game before purchase; due to the way single player gameplay comes across in videos on youtube etc.

However to actually play it's a fun game with good storey to keep my interest, ok so animations aside there’s not much that’s breaking new ground, but it’s very well executed and works seamlessly. My only major gripes the slightly over used effect of blurring/focus & slicing cut scenes, don’t get me wrong I understand the subtlety as to why, just to me it feels way over used especially early on.

Looking foward to trying out multiplayer :)

This is a phenomenal game. Absolutely loving it so far.

I know when I am really enjoying a game, because I replay all the set pieces over and over again. The only other games I can remember doing this with were Max Payne 1 and 2, HL1, HL2 + Episodes, Outlaws (very old), and the original Fear demo.

For those worried about the change in setting, don't be. It works perfectly. Plus you get to shoot some Jersey Shore guido douchebags in the face!

Makes my PC very very toasty and warm though.

Can run all high/very high, no AA at 1680x1050 perfectly fine, with only some slowdown at very few very hectic places.

PC is:
i5 2500K (stock)
ATI 5850 (stock)
8GB Corsair Vengeance

Love it! Well worth £30. Took 7 hours to download on steam with Sky internet at around 1.1MB/s

uses more than 3100mb of VRAM on top settings lol had to dial back the msaa even on the 7970!
Really ...what settings are you using

What hell's up with the Vsync, with it enabled I've been getting up to around 250fps in game

You can skip them but it loads the level first. I think you either do it by pressing enter / return or left click. If you do it too soon it just says "Still Loading" in the bottom right or something similiar.

LOL...i get the still loading message up until the moment the action begins.

Tis a fantastic game though!

Note that some versions of the game do not allow utilities with overlays like FRAPS or EVGA Precision to work

Readings will be wrong because of a compatibility issue. Fraps reads the correct FPS for me with retail version.

I'm loving the fact they put tv's in with watchable program's and captain baseball bat boy has returned!

I'm also loving the general destructiveness of the scenery - especially the glass, the best I've seen in a game so far!

Ive developed a slight issue with the sound dropping out in the cut scenes up till the action starts, no biggie for me as im loving the game non the less but hope it gets sorted with a patch soon.
