*** THE OFFICIAL MAX PAYNE 3 THREAD ***

Bought in on saturday, loving it so far, ive gone for story mode even though there are a lot of cut scenes I think it adds nicely to the overall feel, well worth the £17 or whatever it was :)
 
The deeper you go with the game the better it gets.

Its good. Wasnt a fan at the beginning, but game has grown on me. Near the end now, but would probably give it an 8/10 if I was to score it.

A few bugs in the game, and a few things that drive me crazy.

But its good and very dark.
 
Completed yesterday loved the writing and the voice acting. Loved Passos, he could have done a bit more shooting though :) The visuals and the animations were also pretty good.
 
So I played so far up to chapter X and I am quite disappointed. I liked the visuals, graphics, settings but

Too many cut scenes, game is unplayable, every minute the game takes away the control or slows you down to a snails pace, it's frustrating, annoying and not fun.

The cut scenes can not be skipped, I have SSD vertex 4, I keep spamming enter/space bar to skip the cinematics and it keeps saying "still loading", so I am forced to watch 10min "movies" every 2 minutes, bloody annoying.

I hate that Max is always complaining, "our chance went from zero to maybe" and stuff like that, always complaining, it's not grieving type of soul sucking complaining but a little girl who doesn't want her dress messed up kind of complaining. So annoying.

Story is terrible so far, I am looking for a plot-twist but no, everything as standard as a B-movie.

Apart from graphics, settings, basically visuals and iconic gun-play (thank god they didn't mess that up), everything else is annoying in this game.

Edit: The "clue" thing is completely useless, what is the point of pressing E on something that doesn't alter story or does anything but gets a few comments from protagonist!??! In fact other games had this clue system, when protagonist is near the "object" the protagonist would comment on it, without taking the control away from the player, in this game the devs thoguh it be a great idea to take away control and zoom onto the object.

God damn it just thinking about it all is making me rage >_<

Play it on arcade mode :D

I feel like you're taking mickey out of me. The reason I pointed out the model was to get the point across that it's not hardware loading time limitation, as having a top notch hardware still requires unreasonable loading times.

Sorry, didn't quite word my post properly.
We all know a Vertex4 has amazing read/wright times, so in theory would have little issue loading levels in MP3, within a short period of time!
Certainly much quicker, than the entire movie sequency max, drags us through, but it still flashs "Still Loading" when trying to skip through the movies. :(

Will have to try arcade mode, before batching large portions of my Steam library to a secound normal hard drive!
A 256GB SSD is no replacement for 2TB, not when mass storage is concerned..
 
I'm on chapter 4, does it get any better or just more of the same? Bit tired of the long cut scenes.
 
Anyone else having problems with the Game launcher? When I click on it to load the game I just get the dialog telling me it’s stopped responding? It worked fine and I have played it through on 2 different difficulty settings and now this? If I turn the internet off I can select offline mode and it works ok so it must be the Game launcher/Updater. Its the retail version.
