So the 1080 is a bit faster than a 980ti and will be about the same price in the uk. Just like I called it. Ner ne ner ner.

Only thing that's a bit exciting is those clock speeds though. Bonkers. It bodes for the 1080ti being a really really great card.

This is a hobby (expensive if you want it to be)

Buy what you want - when you want.

You have to treat buying a Gpu like gambling.

According to Nvidia the GTX1080 is 25% faster than a GTX980TI,so if we include the overclocked models,might be not as much.

However,the GTX1080 also has 40% more TFLOPS than a GTX1070.

This much bigger than the GTX980 against the GTX970 which was around 20% difference.

The latest TPU review places the GTX980 as being around 15% faster than the the GTX970:

With the GTX1070 having only GDDR5,it has no hope of catching the GTX1080,and I suspect it will be in-between GTX980 and GTX980TI level performance.

Would not suprise me if it is Fury level or a tad faster.
 
Is it me or the GTX1070 looks a tad meh?? £310 to £320,which makes it 20% more expensive than a GTX970 at launch and looking at the specs would probably be 20% to 25% faster overall??

At least the GTX1080 is the same price as the GTX980TI and offers 25% more performance and more VRAM too.

I hope the reference 1080 comes in at a decent price and not too expensive.

I am going to wait for reviews, we don't know what changes have been made with regards DX12 and efficiency etc. Plus it might use all its memory at full speed ;)
