Awesome :) Just got to hope they come with DVI connectors now, as my monitors dont have display port/HDMI :(

And got to hope they launch at about the current 970 price, otherwise it'll be out of my budget

Ian ; +1 internet points for that reference :P

does have a dvi, but price is between £350-£420

Anyone on 4K right now without 980Ti's minimum needs shoeing anyway.

1440p provides a substantial enough upgrade over 1080 to last at least 2-3 more years.

4K is a gimmick, until mid range GPU's can properly handle it and 4K monitors come down in price with all the right connectors, it's currently an overly expensive proposition for very small gains over 1440, regardless of how many more pixel's it's supposed to have.

depends on the games,

if you play Dota/Rocjet League Overwatch Truck Sim

No issues getting 60FPS+

If people played the game properly and got full value and use from their cards, then upgrading would be a much bigger jump. Instead of folks who bought a 980ti 3 weeks ago, whining they don't want to pay £600 for a 1080, why don't you get full value from your purchase and instead buy a 1180ti in a couple of years, the money will be about the same but instead of 15-20% performance+ you'll probably be looking at 75-100% performance+.

It's only because as a modern society people are so damned impatient and must have everything right now that we have all these whining, over inflated ideas of self importance. Every market is exactly the same now, people used to buy something, use it for a few years and then buy a new one when things has come on a fair amount, now folks want something new and better every day of the week, it's ****ing pathetic.

Yeh fine if you are on 1080p but at 3440x1440 25-30% performance over the 980ti is exactly what it needs.

It seems to have really backfired on nvdia. The goal was seemingly harmless: if nvidia sell reference card really cheap then it reduces competitiveness with the AIB partners' offerings. The problem is there is no guarantee that the AIB partners will release a lot of the $599 cards so it looks like a price jump.
