** The Official Nvidia GeForce 'Pascal' Thread - for general gossip and discussions **

I think if you ran a poll on here asking how many people would forgo fuel, food and other necessities for maximum GPU performance, you'd be surprised at the results. ;)

:)

.....and if people are complaining about the high pricing then that's a good sign of demand IMO - high demand, high pricing :D. Kind of self fullfilling :).

They'll sell out at these prices.
I give 'em the thumbs up - maximise profits Nvidia. Not stirring, but as I have a few shares in NVidia, I'm happy that my purchase this time around will be free :)

I really do like the look of the founders edition. The extra cost is certainly not justified though. No binned chips. No 67c cooler. I think they made a mistake with the pricing on the founders. I'd imagine most people will buy the cheaper vendor cards. Especially if we see some for launch.

I'll be waiting for EVGA cards to waterblock. Better overclocking. Cheaper. Better warranty.

Watched that link.... felt uncomfortable watching that Nvidia dude stutter and trip over his words basically trying to explain how they are blatantly ripping people off... embarrassing really, but hey its Nvidia, it'll get brushed under the carpet and forgotten about in quick time, ala the 970 ram issue.

Still.... sad that they even try to defend that FE nonsense

Sounded like complete horse **** to me. It's not a single slot card, it's a dual slot card is it not, like almost every other card for years? It's a fairly basic PCB without being very crowded nor with anything new or interesting from what I could see. Sounded like a huge bag of excuses and he specifically stated he expected there would be AIB cards at higher prices than theirs.

I said straight away, what are the chances that AIB cards with higher clocks, better cooling will be cheaper than a Founders edition which throttles hard towards 1.7Ghz or so after 5 minutes when the AIBs will probably offer sustained 2Ghz clocks... almost none. What are Asus/Gigabyte going to do when they realise their cards are 10-20% faster than Founders editions, charge less?

this

Exactly...

So would not surprise me seeing them partners coming in at £699 +
i know its an exaggeration but from what i am seeing and hearing its looking to be the case....however peeps will still justify buying them ...this is crazy just crazy..

They have a product people want.
Same as UK house prices. I wonder why some people would buy a tiny flat in London for stupid money, but they do
Unlike house prices though, graphics cards do depreciate down to zero eventually :)
