Its utter rubbish. Show me the driver release notes from Nvidia where it says in that driver release they reduced the performance of a previous card.
You can't. If it was such an issue Nvidia would be taken to court as its probably illegal. They haven't. End of. Anything else is spurious conspiracy theory.
 
Nv would never 'gimp' anything.:p

Personally going with the Maxwell optimisation 'priority' falling out the window myself, all it'll take is a BF1 title with stock 1070 holding a 30% lead over a clocked 980Ti for three months until Nv 'optimise' Maxwell drivers.

?? So because Nvidia didn't say it it cant be true? lol Like they would put it in their driver release notes! :rolleyes:. Are you honestly telling me that you believe everything that comes out of a companies mouth as gospel?? jeso. with that - i'm out.

I stand by my original post. 1070 is a better buy than a 980Ti.

You can stand by what you want but NVIDIA didn't gimp performance on older cards. In fact, there was an article some time ago that showed a lack of Kepler performance in a new release and that basically said the same as you and Nvidia responded with "we prioritised Maxwell and will address Kepler/Fermi in a later driver" but of course you won't belive that and would rather stick to your guns instead. Now we have Pascal, I expect older gen cards to get overlooked for the interim whilst their newest release gets the attention but they won't be gimping performance.

I dont think many would disagree with your conclusion. Rather your reasoning.

Again, show where driver updates hurt performance of Kepler. Obviously it should be entirely verifiable if performance for Kepler went backwards. Keep in mind that Maxwell performance improving is not the same thing as Kepler performance going backwards.

18 months and yes it does show a drop in 780Ti from 62.4fps in 2013 , to 61.7 in 2015. changes in system? game patch? or within margin of error?

Looking at some videos on youtube with overclocked 980 Ti's vs overclocked 1080s to 1080 offers anywhere from 20-30% performance advantage, which if that's the difference from 40-50/52 fps then I'd happily take that (y)

Why?

I have done it with mutiple reviews now (added up the average %)

And its always about 20-25% faster on average

If you are comparing to a 1500mhz 980ti or titan X then obviously it is less, but who the hell actually has that? About 5% of 980ti owners probably.
