This is the kind of **** as to why the UK will never move forward, no one can seem to accept a result in this country, we have calls for a 2nd Scottish referendum all the time and now we have a stupid petition for a 2nd EU referendum.

Two vevry different things. The Scottish Referendum reached the required turnout and result to be considered reprisentative, so the result stood.

The EU Referendum has not. So this wouldn't be a second Referendum, it would be a rerun of the first.

My Facebook feed is interesting, the people I would typecast as intelligent and successful are disappointed with the result, and the ones who'd I'd typecast as less intelligent and more working class are happy. Has anyone else noticed the same?
I have two types of posters on my facebook this morning.

  1. It's the end. Racist bigiots have won. We're doomed.
  2. It'll probably be okay. No one really knows whats going to happen.
It's amazing with a vote of 52% leave that there's less posts celebrating it.

I had one friend comment that at his work he's more afraid of coming out saying he voted leave than he would be saying he's gay. It's amazing how certain views are now so negatively viewed by a proportion of the population that it can't be viewed for fear of reprisals.

But if it was the other way around and Bremain won? :D

Lets be honest,Remain are just butt hurt that it didn't go their way.

I understand both sides of the story,Why people votes out,why people voted in etc...BUT the results are done,Why is it so hard for people to just accept it.

It doesn't matter which side you are on, the rules that allow a Referendum to be re-run are based on the results being inclonclusive. Statistically, these ones are. I would expect the same reaction either way given a close result and a less than stellar turn out.

13m people didn't vote, yet the margin of victory was only 1.3m.

We're laughing at you, not with you.
While it's not the result I wanted, I'll be fine.

I can get duel citizenship with Ireland to retain the individual benefits, in a profession that's likely to see a significant pay rise a result of increased demand/reduced availability of staff & unlikely to feel any of the the negative impact of the impending public sector cuts.

I'm just laughing at the turkeys voting for Christmas.

Result is a result, blame the people who could not be arsed to vote.

Until we actually exit, we are obliged to action EU laws but will no longer have a say in decisions! Hmm, that's not good.
Andi.

From the bbc - How long will it take for Britain to leave the EU?
The minimum period after a vote to leave will be two years. During that time Britain will continue to abide by EU treaties and laws, but not take part in any decision-making, as it negotiated a withdrawal agreement and the terms of its relationship with the now 27 nation bloc. In practice it may take longer than two years, depending on how the negotiations go.

That's after Article 50, though, right? Not from Today.

Well done to all of those who decided to vote leave..... I mean already our pound is worth Sweet FA, The UKs credit rating is no more........ More recession you've caused us, not to mention more and more savage cuts to those whom need it.

Add to that the destruction of the NHS, and any rights you once had, yes Leave campaigns, and the right wing, you really have *** Fully star your swear words *** -Will Gill the country up, well done to a certain Australian media giant whom doesn't live in the UK, and well done Farage and Co....... for truly destroying this country.

Whats this for a re-run? :D

Cant they just accept the votes have been done,Were out simple as that.

Before Brexit, Bremainers were a vote's a vote, we're not worried :^)

After Brexit, THIS ISNT FAIR 52% ISN'T A BIG ENOUGH MAJORITY!11!!1!.

Guarantee they'd be fine with 52/48 in remains favour.

Just the saying 'butt hurt' makes me frustrated and not surprised that you voted leave

If voting really did go down those lines, it would have been a landslide win for leave. A lot of uneducated/low skilled people must have voted remain for the result to be as close as it was.
