***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

Don't exaggerate, I'm pretty certain no Lego box retails for more than £100. most big ones are around £50. A nitro car is in the range of £300!:p

I like Lego, the boxes are easy to identify and stack!

I've gotta say after working in a toy store for a couple of weeks there are a few toys I really want, one is a Thomas the tank engine Ultimate set and the other is one or two of the Lego boxes.:o

a lot of the technic lego vehicles cost over 100quid :P

can get a nitro rc car off ebay for around that price or a brand new electric RC car ;)

my son has the thomas ultimate set and some of the other sets.

havent used it in ages but i could make a track that goes from one side of the house to the other , the only problem is the trains kill batteries fast and not all the trains depleat batteries at the same rate so you end up constantly stopping the trains to stop them crashing into each other.

Dont you hate it when you open the wrong cupboard up before Xmas lol.

When to look for some batteries today in the parents room and look what i found :D:D:D

Is it bad that there buying this for me at 23? haha or worst is that im so excited i cant wait for the 25th to start putting the 5195!!!!! lego pieces together :p:p:p:p:p

Dude it ain't that bad! It does say 16+:D

I have an enormous box (about 4' x 2' x 2') full of lego, but it's all mixed up, and is hell to find a specific piece. Plus it's all plain lego and wheels, etc. No motors or anything. I'd love to have a massive box full of technic lego :D

Meh wish my parents would buy me one of those, I bet I get socks again

:D Cant bring myself to build it, worth too much being 18 years old and unopened, time for ebay!

I still enjoy getting old kits out (mostly just Technic and Mindstorms stuff) and seeing what I can rustle up, Lego these days is too simplified - even some of the Technic kits have a main frame and then just bits you clip on - the proper ones with motors you have to build and gears etc are the best!

I had a look around in a shop today that sold toys with the GF I came across the the Lego section.. hmmm

Is it wrong for me (nearly 27 year old) to want lego to open for xmas day.. specifically City Lego and perhaps Lego train? Is ****** geeky but I gotta be honest I am fed up of opening presents on xmas day where the fun factor dies out after 5 minutes.

Not at all! I'm with you on that one, and I'm 30.

Must admit do regret selling off all my Lego I had when I was a kid. Mainly the city stuff, and a quite awesome train set all set up in my bedroom.

Also had a cool Technics lorry that must have taken at least 2 days to build over Christmas quite a few years back. Had a quick google but can't seem too find online.

Ha well today I moved on from saying I would like Lego for Xmas.

The GF also thought that making something Lego on Christmas Day would be a fun idea. She liked the pizza place we came across a few weeks back.. which is cool as I much prefer the City selection over the other themes that Lego make.

So we bought these today :D

haha! Jesus!...

As I went through the checkout with it I looked back at the queue of others waiting to be served. I thought hmmm it's ok! They probably think it is for a son, brother, or newphew etc.. but what they didn't know was IT'S FOR ME!

Crazy times :D lol

But Christmas Day is gonna be much more fun and interesting than it has been for the last 10 years! I just need to keep it in the box now until Christmas day.. lol

Cheers AmTechFox I think it will be a different Christmas day this year lol

were all big kids really, no matter how old we are, you cant get rid of the lego bug at all.

So true I still have the bug so bad it seems!

But another thing that hasn't changed are the prices, they are still so steep!

Say you want the City Garage which is 953 pieces.. could probably be built in a couple of hours if you really get on top of it.. and they want £61 for it! I would say more like £30 would be more sensible.

I have noticed though that the smaller builds have come down in price. I remember when £7 would get you a 25 piece build which would be so tiny and take all of 3 minutes to put together.

I still do love Lego but they still are milking it badly!
