App works but can't find a Gcam folder following his instructions. Think I'll just wait for the update.
Edit: got it working but the colours are really washed out. Just figured it out, turn HDR off and colour comes back.

Looks good. Once it's installed do you lose any functionality with the inbuilt camera ui?

Does every OnePlus phone have issues?

Oneplus have said there is a big update coming to the camera that will make a huge difference.
Taken a few quick snaps and the camera is decent. No, it's not top of the line, but it's good enough.
If you want a great camera, get a pixel and put up with the bath tub shaped notch and a chin bigger than Craig David. Me, I'll stick with the OnePlus.
You sound angry, there's really no need.
Frankly I don't much care about the camera (I just want a phone that takes photos) but if OnePlus want to play with the big boys (as they seem to), they need to work on their cameras. They might get away with it this year as they are still cheaper than Samsung and Apple but it's been clear for quite a number of years OnePlus (I assume on orders from OPPO) has been slowly but surely increasing their prices. I suspect they will match Apple and Samsung in a year or two and at that point unless their cameras match they're going to get destroyed.
Their cameras were acceptable when their phones were £400, now they're £600+, that's starting to not be true.
