*** The Official OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 Thread ***

OK then, it's installed and worked so apart from Safari (which I don't really use), what are the killer features?

As far as I see it, the update has brought a much improved Safari and a number of features that make OSX integrate better with iOS devices (messaging, Reminders, Notes, Cloud Services).

There is nothing really killer in it.

Just installed on my MBP after downloading it for ages (having huge problems with my connection at the moment). Safari is definitely faster and smoother than it was before, though I don't like the dynamically sizing tabs - they will definitely take some getting used to.

As for the rest...we'll see. I definitely think that I will start having a reason to use Facetime now.

I'm not sure if Lion had this, but the webpages reflect on the taskbar at the bottom now which I find a nice touch.

anyone else still waiting for their upgrade code from Apple?

Yup. I think most people are. Supposedly after the problems they had earlier it might take up to 72 hours for codes to be sent out. I'm guessing they're fixing any bugs right now and it will probably arrive in the morning *wishful thinking*

Anyone know where the install file is for ML after installing the software so I can burn to USB? or do I need to download again from the store?

Works great btw :)

If it's the same as Lion was (I'm currently waiting on a new USB stick in the post so haven't got Mountain Lion yet) then you need to do the copy to USB after the installer is downloaded but before you run the install.

Downloaded through the App Store.

My favourite update has to be Safari, its a pleasure to use now, no scroll lag and video performance in Safari seems a lot more stable.

Overall Mac experience is faster and refined with this, and the notifications is a nice touch I reckon.

Thanks, I had to re-download it from the Appstore as I couldnt find it after installing. Will get it on a USB stick tonight so I can do a fresh install :)

I gave up waiting for my code and bought a license outright. I'm going to see if I can get a credit note put on my Apple ID. I tested out Airplay on my Apple TV and it looks pretty good so far, this is the feature that stands out the most for me. Hopefully EVE online will run OK when I test it tonight.
