*** The Official OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 Thread ***

Yes I noticed that too.

I do wish they would bring back Spaces. It was so much better for desktop PC.

Is there anyway of bringing them back with a 3rd party software?

Spaces is still there, but only horizontally.

They are managed in mission control now.

In mountain lion, in system preferences there is a way to make expose actually work like it used to and separate apps properly.

I am using dictation to write this. I have come across two errors already, one is that Safari has crashed twice. The other is that in Mail when you have certain attachments the images are displayed as corrupted lines.

if I perform a clean install of ML will I be asked to make a new user account when doing this? if so what happens when I come to restore all my old stuff - wont there be a conflict?

Did a clean install on both my MBP and iMac last night. Had some problems getting the image on to a USB stick (faulty stick) and an error using a portable HDD (random Disc Utility error), but got there in the end.

Mac App Store was good as you just scroll down the list installing what you want rather than trawling the web for the latest versions. Had some problems installing Office 2011 as the image I had wasn't signed so had to disable that in gatekeeper.

iMessage is still being awkward, neither computer has pulled the chat history that is sat on my iPhone and iPad. Not quite mastered the Notification Center gesture yet. Left it copying my 800Gb of music/photos/parallel images and it was done this morning but didn't have time to play.

If you want to bypass Gatekeeper on individual apps you can right-click and open on it instead of completely disabling it :)

Is anyone else having issues with Safari crashing when I you try to open new tabs?

I have been running their safari 6 betas for about a month now and there are quite a few crashing issues with it. I assumed these would be fixed by the time it was packaged with ML.

Its quite a random problem but as you say, its when you open a couple of tabs quite quickly usually. Only saving grace is that its pretty quick to reopen.

I had some issues with Safari crashing. Since downloading flash from the adobe site, all is fine now.

I have also had Traktor Pro 2 crash on me too ,hopefully there will be a stability update for all the crashing soon.

Apple are getting more and more like Windows now that they are feeding a larger market.

6 Hours Remaining on the download, My internet is pretty poor due to location.. I did a fresh Install on Snow Lep to Lion.. Not feeling a fresh install but would it be recommended for better performance or would the difference be minimal?

I've always done upgrades without ANY issue. The only time I ever rebuild/fresh install is on a change of hardware, which only happens every 3-4 years anyway.

I'm sure the fresh install evangelists will be here in a minute to tell you otherwise but there's no point. Just upgrade and get on with using your machine :)
