The official Philips BDM4065UC thread

Has anyone switched the stand on this monitor to something more flexible? Unfortunately, because I can't raise the height of the monitor, the bottom of the screen where the task bar and start menu are can be quite difficult to see from the position I sit in. Other than standing the screen on something to boost the height, has anyone got any recommendations for a replacement desktop stand?

I use Av:link Dual Arm Desk Mount for 13 - 32-Inch LED/LCD Screen from amazn does the job at home where I don't have a lot of room, but you can also drag the taskbar to another edge.

In my office two reams of a4 paper also does the trick :D

I bought my monitor back in July and it recently developed this fault. It's at the top of the monitor and not all that noticeable most of the time so I'm not sure if it's worth sending it for repair or if they would even do anything about it. Would any of you consider this to be worthy of a service order from Philips? It looks like a cluster of dead pixels on the edge of the display. I don't know if I'm overreacting or what :D

I used angle power cable plug but it still sticks out a bit more than left side when hang on the wall.

Is there any ultra flat angle cable I could use?

Or should I add some additional plate to get wall mount off the wall a bit?

You can get a 90 degree kettle lead quite easily. Also some good thick washers or nylon spacers should do the trick.

Much appreciates get back to me please o ve tested

finally got around to installing it BF4 plays fine for me, getting over 100fps on Ultra @4k and no tearing or judder of note, seems fine, I would stress I haven't played it at length, I am one of the few who just played the single player, but if there is something specific I should try to perhaps show an issue I can have a go and feedback.

I would say though this is not a hardcore fps player screen, it is not fast enough, in high contrast areas there is afterglow, not notice in BF4 yet but have noticed in some racers. Doesn't bother me, my 2711 did it also.

Right i have been using my lg 47 tv for pc use ps4 and playing movies off my pc basically a all rounder dont do pc gaming have a amd 270x graphics card with a display port so i am ok on that side. Main worry is that is this monitor be used the same way ive used my tv 47 inch as an all rounder which was always on 1080p

So I finally wanted to try and setup some games, mainly witcher 3, in 21:9 using CRU but no matter how I setup the resolution it squeezes the image from the sides. So my black bars are on the left and right and the image is smushed lol. I've tried 3780x1620, 2560x1080, 3840x1440... but when I set my desktop to any of these it works properly.

Am I missing something? I have no scaling selected in the catalyst software.

3840x1648 is the resolution to use.

Also the monitor's "Picture Format" should be set to 1:1 and Witcher 3 set to "borderless window" mode.

I've setup a couple of shortcuts on my desktop that will switch resolutions without any prompts.

Sweeeeet! That worked :) Looks great, but now I can't use xfire lol. Ah well I'll compromise somewhere. Thanks!

My monitor seems to have just died, when I came to PC it had a loud noise like a fan, I turned it off but it won't turn on again. Any ideas? Am I missing something when turning it on other than the switch on the back? It's not showing up as a screen on PC anymore either.

Hi, would you mind explaining how you setup shortcuts to change res?

And is it also possible to also force an update of the refresh rate? I keep finding my monitor switches from 60Hz to 30Hz, sometimes when running a game in full screen. The only way I can find to fix it properly is to switch back to 60Hz in the display adapter (and even then it requires a reboot). Strangely this seems to have become more frequent since I installed the Philips monitor driver...
