Should have light bar dimming also according to this leak from the 5th March.

sony execs have already said there is no way to turn it off or dim it on twitter i believe, so it would not be possible unless they lied or if they bring out a new revision of the DS4.

it was a huge complaint and obviously they got bombarded on twitter. their reply was LED's use very little power and their would be no point in turning them off.

so people tried another route saying that they own plasma tv's and play in darkly lit rooms and the light bar is reflecting on the screen ruining the whole experience.

i believe all they did was say sorry it's not possible.

also that isn't a leak that is just random person saying what they wish they would include "Be good to see a video editing suite....the ability to remove videos from the PS4 via USB or record onto external devices.....dim the light bar perhaps....amongst other things."

be good to see means they would like those features, so nobody said they would be added.

like i said above sony say it is impossible.

Got a decal for mine, very happy with it. Was tempted to buy another DS4 so I can always have a spare charged one as my PS4 is too far to plug in the standard cable and it doest seem to charge from a mains usb charger which is odd.

It's not a leak? A guy posts on the 5th of March information about 1.70 and every single part of it except the light bar dimming was included in today's announcement? Do you honestly think he just got lucky, or was he leaking things in a way without straight up saying it?

Also judging by his sig he works for a major company, he obviously works somewhere within Sony to have that kind of information so far in advance.

Yep using the driver for the DS4 on your PC you can change the light bar colour or disable it, there's no reason at all why Sony can't dim/disable it, it's possible.

I can't see them disabling it for obvious reasons (there needs to be some visual indication the controller is on/working) but no reason it can't be dimmed when it's not being used for tracking by the camera.

Sony need to use smarts in how the LED is used for non-Move stuff - honestly the current implementations arent clever. Audio cues are preferred as I find Housemarques speaker approach more useful/less distracting than Guerillas LED use...

PlayStation 4 owners have turned to Twitter to ask Sony head Shuhei Yoshida whether an option to turn off the Dual Shock 4's lightbar will be implemented in future updates for the PS4. When asked, Yoshida simply said "no."

Got a PS4 coming with the Infamous bundle £346 with works discount so pleased with that, didn't enjoy the second infamous as much as the first so hoping this is the dogs.

I cant say it bothers me either way , I dont really notice it even in a dark room.

Unless having option to turn off to save battery life would be good I guess?

I really don't see the fuss over the light bar, if it bothers people that much just tape over it, I bought a decal with the ps4 logo on it and it looks cool, my girlfriend even commented on how good it looks with it on
